122, 124 High St, MaldonI've been to a few Mexicans and this is better than many but I'd be lying if I gave it 5 stars across the board as atmosphere was hard to score but it was a Tuesday night. Ribs were awesome, Nachos pretty good also, Fajitas were not as exciting as I've had before (I.e. sizzling off the plate as they arrive) and prawns were super garlicky which I like but not sure on a fajitas? Staff serving were great, they let us try some extra hot sauce described as a slow burner and it was!!!! I'd go again though all said and done ?

30A High St, MaldonYesterday walked past the shall in Colchester had to stop as love the smell of coffee , first time buying off a shall aways order beans off line but got to say I was very impressed with the Pistachio bean .. only got 100g wish I got more now ? The Waffle Bar
5BX, 144 High St, MaldonMy partner got a gluten free waffle with strawberries, chocolate and cream (they are gluten intolerant, not coeliac, the gf waffles are made in the same waffle iron so maybe not suitable for coeliacs), and I got a goats cheese, spinach and caramelised onion toastie. There's a really good selection of things on the menu, waffles, crepes, sandwiches and toasties as well as a few other things. They have gf options for almost everything except the crepes.
Both things cost a bit less than £10 and were really delicious, and arrived warm and in reasonable time. The gf waffle was nice and fluffy inside and crispy on the outside and it tasted good. The toastie had nice chunks of goats cheese and a good ratio of spinach and onion, the salad and crisps it came with were also good and it was a nice filling lunch. I like that the coleslaw came in a small separate pot on the plate so it didnt get mixed in with everything else.
The service was lovely and the atmosphere and wintery decorations felt really cosy, as well as the old exposed wooden beams inside. I would definitely recommend a visit and I want to go again next time I'm nearby. We visited at the end of december, just before new year's.

102 High St, MaldonWe only went in because all the pubs were either closed, or packed. However it was a decent choice, food and service were good although be warned the portions are large, this was fine for my son but a bit much for me and the wife. ( They did a Doggy bag).
Worth a visit and 4 of us were full for £100

80-82 High Street, MaldonJasmine served my friend who is celiac (gluten free). She showed my friend the allergy book and took my friends allergy seriously. Jasmine even showed my friend where all of the food was prepared and made sure everything was gf. She took my friend to the costa kitchen where everything was washed. All of the ingredients were opened from a sealed packet. Jasmine went over and above and showed great service and understanding. We are very grateful.

❒ Royal Oak, Chelmsford Rd, MaldonOur first visit to Zara and my wife and I were not disappointed. Although the restaurant was very quiet when we arrived at 6pm, by the time we were halfway through our meal, it had started to fill up, and the telephone takeaway orders just kept coming!
The service was good but unobtrusive, and the food very tasty and plentiful. Very good value for money. All in all, a very pleasant end to my 77th birthday! Zara team ko, shukriya aur phir milenge!

116 High St, MaldonA great experience in a one of restaurant. This place is amazing, the food is authentic Indian food. I’ve tried the fish dishes and the salmon tikka is cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The paneer starters is very nice too, the samosas are unique and much better than you normally get in an Indian restaurant. The curries are superb, Bombay potatoes are so nice. The side dishes are not the same portion size as you would expect, but they are ample for two people and we aren’t big eaters. The cost is reasonable and definitely worth getting the loyalty card. The management are lovely people, they’ve worked hard to maintain a Great restaurant. I like that they are able to explain the history behind the dish and ingredients used to make the dishes so special. They also open Christmas Day, we’ve eaten there on Christmas Day and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed and great food again. One of the best restaurants in Maldon

34 High Street, MaldonChapter House is a day centre for vulnerable adults and today we went for a visit . The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They had a chat with all of us and chatted with the customers they helped carrying coffee and getting the customers settled. It was lovely with plenty of places to sit. \nWe also watched the staff help other customers and treat everyone with respect and kindness . Definitely got the thumbs up from Chapter house and will be visiting again soon!

They are the only takeout for kebabs that use good quality chip shop chips instead of cheap fries, they use actual cheese ( not the cheap Plastic stuff all the others use) on the cheese chips and have done since they Opened! Good work chaps! Never change!

King George's Place, 5 High St, MaldonDelivery! Pizza is good, chips and wings not so much.
Food: Pizza was tasty but a little smaller than they say (9inch pizza is 8 inches), chips are mediocre, and the bbq wings were dry and disappointing. Stick to the pizza and you'll be alright.
Ordered via their website (which redirects you to just eat) after getting a leaflet through the door. But the leaflet says one thing and justeat says another (specifically delivery fees, meal deals, and options within the meal deals).
I could report to the advertising standards authority because this is literally false advertising, but that's a lot of effort and I don't want to cause them the drama...
Delivery time was as expected, and the driver was polite.

Fish On The Quay
Church St, MaldonMy wife and I went to the Christmas Market with our pet dog and popped in on the off chance, without having booked a table. We were all welcomed and offered a table to dine. We couldn't have timed it better, as the restuarant quickly filled with customers. The food, drink and the service was excellent. Well worth a visit. We will be back.

Fambridge Rd, MaldonWe visited this place a year or so ago and impressed by the well stocked bar and real ales, the food quality, service & presentation were also good. However this has had a significant refurbishment which has improved the ambience, quality of furniture and increased the available seating area. The service was friendly courteous and extremely helpful. The fayre was reasonably priced, well cooked and presented. We all enjoyed the visit and will return. If I were to criticise I would have to mention that the low ceiling and lack of soft furnishing did make the place a little noisy. In the summer I'm sure the place will be buzzing what with the well appointed garden facility.

Park Drive Maldonmaddison heights is a great place to go people may look at it and think its a bad place but trust me its a good place to go to i feel terrible about how i treated that place when i went i do miss it but honestly there so sweet there rinks good ive never tried the bowling ally but it looks good there enough lanes and there arcades good and the soft play too! i feel terrible for everything i ever done to them but if you ever go js make sure ti give it a chance before you make your decision ♥️

2, King George's Place, High St, MaldonFirst time visiting Sophie's Tea Room and we were very impressed. Lots to choose from the menu as well as many varieties of hot and cold drinks. The food was excellent. I had the panninni which was crammed full of chicken, bacon and cheese. The service was quick, the tearoom had a lovely atmosphere, just like a proper tearoom. Will definitely be visiting again.
