122, 124 High St, MaldonWe went to this restaurant for our son’s 16th birthday with family. The atmosphere was a little lacking to start (we were quite early at 6.30pm), it would have been better to have the music slightly louder as we felt the other diners could hear all of our conversations! But the staff were exemplary, very attentive, polite and helpful. The food was very good, we had a wide range of options ranging from burritos, Chimichangas, taco bowls and paella. It was unfortunate that almost all of the clams in the paella didn’t open and couldn’t be eaten. I can personally vouch for the margaritas! Overall, this is one of the nicest experiences we’ve had and we won’t hesitate to return.

5BX, 144 High St, MaldonWe nipped in yesterday but even though they were just about to close (it was 4pm and we hadn't realised) they still took our order and served us. We had three lovely waffles. Really welcoming service and so grateful that they stayed open for us as the kids really enjoyed it. Lovely little place as well.

102 High St, MaldonWe only went in because all the pubs were either closed, or packed. However it was a decent choice, food and service were good although be warned the portions are large, this was fine for my son but a bit much for me and the wife. ( They did a Doggy bag).
Worth a visit and 4 of us were full for £100

80-82 High Street, MaldonJasmine served my friend who is celiac (gluten free). She showed my friend the allergy book and took my friends allergy seriously. Jasmine even showed my friend where all of the food was prepared and made sure everything was gf. She took my friend to the costa kitchen where everything was washed. All of the ingredients were opened from a sealed packet. Jasmine went over and above and showed great service and understanding. We are very grateful.

❒ Royal Oak, Chelmsford Rd, MaldonOur first visit to Zara and my wife and I were not disappointed. Although the restaurant was very quiet when we arrived at 6pm, by the time we were halfway through our meal, it had started to fill up, and the telephone takeaway orders just kept coming!
The service was good but unobtrusive, and the food very tasty and plentiful. Very good value for money. All in all, a very pleasant end to my 77th birthday! Zara team ko, shukriya aur phir milenge!

116 High St, MaldonA great experience in a one of restaurant. This place is amazing, the food is authentic Indian food. I’ve tried the fish dishes and the salmon tikka is cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The paneer starters is very nice too, the samosas are unique and much better than you normally get in an Indian restaurant. The curries are superb, Bombay potatoes are so nice. The side dishes are not the same portion size as you would expect, but they are ample for two people and we aren’t big eaters. The cost is reasonable and definitely worth getting the loyalty card. The management are lovely people, they’ve worked hard to maintain a Great restaurant. I like that they are able to explain the history behind the dish and ingredients used to make the dishes so special. They also open Christmas Day, we’ve eaten there on Christmas Day and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed and great food again. One of the best restaurants in Maldon

191-193 High St, MaldonVery nice birthday meal for my mums 82nd. Was extremely busy as it was a Saturday night, but staff were attentive and friendly. Had poppadoms and mains, and we was all stuffed after, so glad we never had starters. Managed to park across the road as after 6pm.

We contacted Paul's Plaice to cater for our wedding and it was the highlight of our day and our guests Absolutely loved it! They were so accommodating, reasonably priced, incredibly kind and helpful offering alternatives for our gf guests and managed to cater for over 60 people efficiently at exactly the agreed time and it was all still piping hot! Can't thank you all enough!

Zero grease, just a great juicy burger! Kebab bread is a artizan middle Eastern style bread which was absolutely delicious.

Food: Pizza was tasty but a little smaller than they say (9inch pizza is 8 inches), chips are mediocre, and the bbq wings were dry and disappointing. Stick to the pizza and you'll be alright.
Ordered via their website (which redirects you to just eat) after getting a leaflet through the door. But the leaflet says one thing and justeat says another (specifically delivery fees, meal deals, and options within the meal deals).
I could report to the advertising standards authority because this is literally false advertising, but that's a lot of effort and I don't want to cause them the drama...
Delivery time was as expected, and the driver was polite.

Kings Head Centre, 38 High St, MaldonFirst time coming here and very impressed with this lovely little gem of a cafe. Staff were very friendly, service was fast and the food was delicious. They have a great menu with varying options and we were given a specials menu which we ordered the Cuban ciabatta paninis from, they were very tasty! I also spotted some sausage sandwiches coming out as well as salads which all looked very good too. Would highly recommend and we will be returning!

The Square, 1 Church St, Goldhanger, MaldonThis is a lovely country pub nestled in Goldhanger. They have their own free car park for patrons. The food was very nice and sensibly priced plus all the staff that served were lovely. As you can see from the photo the price for a Carlsberg was amazing (Aug 2025), i hope they keep this up. A lovely touch was not allowing smoking in the rear beer garden so you can eat your food without that disgusting smell wafting over. Would recommend this place highly.

Well what a surprise I have looked in when walking past and seen a very small dark seating area but this is for deliveries and take away!! Down the right hand side is a very open bright area of tables and also a row of private glazed side cubicles for 2 to 4 persons - all white bright and clean. First time there so ordered favourite dishes to enable comparison with others restaurants . Well I now have a new favourite curry house! Stunning flavours and presentation good size potions and a reasonable price taking into account Starmer get 20% !!! Service was impeccable and even the wine list was reasonably priced. My waist line won’t allow too many visits but will be back soon to try other dishes and trying to get my kids over for a birthday party…… highly recommended

34 High Street, MaldonChapter House is a day centre for vulnerable adults and today we went for a visit . The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They had a chat with all of us and chatted with the customers they helped carrying coffee and getting the customers settled. It was lovely with plenty of places to sit. \nWe also watched the staff help other customers and treat everyone with respect and kindness . Definitely got the thumbs up from Chapter house and will be visiting again soon!

Park Drive Maldonmaddison heights is a great place to go people may look at it and think its a bad place but trust me its a good place to go to i feel terrible about how i treated that place when i went i do miss it but honestly there so sweet there rinks good ive never tried the bowling ally but it looks good there enough lanes and there arcades good and the soft play too! i feel terrible for everything i ever done to them but if you ever go js make sure ti give it a chance before you make your decision ♥️

2, King George's Place, High St, MaldonFirst time visiting Sophie's Tea Room and we were very impressed. Lots to choose from the menu as well as many varieties of hot and cold drinks. The food was excellent. I had the panninni which was crammed full of chicken, bacon and cheese. The service was quick, the tearoom had a lovely atmosphere, just like a proper tearoom. Will definitely be visiting again.

Smokehouse, The, Cromwell Ln, MaldonMaldon Smokehouse I have been meaning to visit for a while since the new management & I finally managed to go a couple of Saturdays ago, and I’m so glad I did. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the customer service was warm and friendly, served with a smile. On top of that, the views are breathtaking – the perfect backdrop to a lovely meal. I would highly recommend this place for its beautiful setting, great service, and delicious food. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you!
