Found this place and thought, great, as we could take our dog in with us. Only one person working and it took ages to get served. Surroundings were basic. I only saw one gnome (lol). Don't think we will go back as it was an unimpressive

For the weary traveller, for the spark-minded creative, find your home in the Gnome. It's very different than many local coffee shops with vary unique options and a high selection of various forms of milk. A bit like going to an alcamy coffee shop down diagon alley, trust me it's a delicious experience.I didn't trust the taste of oat milk until coming hereI would recommend trying:Chai Latte - Coffee CreamMatcha Latte - GreenBeetroot Latte - Pink10/10 Gnome out of Gnome

The best coffee in the area! If you’re looking for good quality coffee beans even for decaf then this is your place. The decaf oat cappuccino is excellent thankyou. Since moving from London and being spoilt with excellent coffee there, this is finally the local Essex quality coffee ! I’m so pleased you’ve opened up. I also love the art and the decor very bohemian.

We didn't realise that the cafe was a vegetarian cafe but we decided to give it a try. Chsp behind counter was very polite. However food though good was very expensive. Choice is limited and nothing much for children.Vegetarian options: This is a vegetarian cafe

Visited Saturday 24 September for a great black Americano and vegan carrot cake. Relaxed atmosphere with local artist works adorning the walls. Well chosen and knowledgeable playlist (Gnome Cafe on spotify) adds to the ambiance and as a venue committed to the local community.

Lovely cafe, owner and staff. Last night I went to a wonderful event at the Gnome Cafe. It's a creative space full of art and serves delicious plant based food. The hotdogs and nachos were presented beautifully and we're very tasty!

We've popped in here a few times now, the coffee is excellent and the primary reason we keep going back. The cakes have been delicious and there have been gluten free options most visits. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and are happy to field questions about the coffee and items on the menu. The walls are covered in art that's for sale and a really nice touch to the place. We will be back soon, I'm sure.Vegetarian options: Vegan cafeDietary restrictions: Gluten free cake options, millionaire shortbread was delicious
