Very good service from our server, who took care of us pleasantly and politely without being obtrusive. The place itself is nicely decorated, comfortable, clean, stylish, with a nice relaxed ambience. The food was a mixed bag; first of all we were slightly disappointed to find there were no Sunday roast options, but I guess we could have checked the menu before we booked.Secondly my £15-ish burger and chips was definitely a poor choice: I asked for no lettuce, but for some inexplicable reason the chef decided to hold everything, there was no pickle and no tomato, just a dry bun with an over-cooked burger and a sad slice of cheese. I would have expected to have paid around £1.50 for this in a fast food burger chain. On the upside my partner enjoyed her deep fried halloumi, and the deserts were fabulous concoctions, generous servings of tasty well-presented deliciousness.Overall okay, but could be better. Would I go back? Yes, but not as a first choice.

Been here twice this month. Food was good! Good choice of salad. I must say the staff were amazing and attentive. Made the experience enjoyable! Defo has become my favourite harvester! Thank you all!

Love the breakfast. Nicely cooked except, the tomato which nearly every restaurant never cooks properly. Oh more mushrooms please. I only got two small quarters. On the whole, highly recommended place to go for breakfast. The staff were very attentive as well.

Fairly quick service & staff were friendly. A few items I ordered were not available (chicken skewers & a couple of sauces). Would be great if customers could return to picking our own salad (more variety of items at the salad bar would be nice too i.e. olives, pickled onions & pineapple)

Was a wonderful earning. When out for a family meal staff where wonderful and polite and very helpful. Food was lovely and quick serving. The kids where given little colouring packs so they where happy.

Everyone really enjoyed their breakfast and Sam the waitress was very attentive. The gent greeting was also very friendly If anything to improve it would be the food to be a little hotter other than that it was lovely

Title says it all. Good service, decent size portions at a reasonable price. Fresh clean restaurant too.

Decided to give the Harvester Breakfast a try at Rayleigh, I loved the waffles. Without a doubt we will be back again. Staff were chatty and helpful when it came to my daughters food intolerances, thank you so much

So, not sure where to start really. I think this review is more aimed at harvester in general as I know the Rayleigh branch doesn’t set prices or menus etc. But. I have to say, I haven’t been to a harvester for many years now but as I was staying the premier inn next door, thought I would pop in for dinner. I ordered the bbq wings for a starter which frankly are a joke. They used to be double jointed wings from the grill - now, they are tiny fried wings covered in bbq. £5 for for 5 SMALL wings is a joke, I feel robbed. Had the bones pile for main which again was average in terms of taste but over £20 for ribs (and 3 more tiny wings) did not represent value for money. I will say that service was 10/10 I can’t fault that, but sadly harvester has lost its touch and I don’t think I will be in a hurry to return.

We visited as a treat for the children. The welcome was friendly and we were seated straight away. Our drinks and food were delivered swiftly and the salad bar was well stocked. The food was really tasty and my steak was cooked perfectly. Our server Sam was polite, helpful and friendly. Even when we accidentally knocked a full glass on the floor, the staff were still really pleasant. Great food, lovely service and a call on our return home to rectify that they'd accidentally over charged us was the cherry on top. Well done

Ryan our waiter deserves 5 stars he was polite and friendly. the reason i have only given a 4 star is the stupid way the kitchen send out the food. it was around 2pm when we arrived and the lunch time rush was over. we were shown to a table straight away and given menus. our order was taken and a few moments later Ryan took us to the salad bar. we had ordered a starter as well as the main course, the starter arrived just as we had finished buttering the roll that came with the salad bar so no time to eat the salad as I had ordered soup and my husband mushrooms. unbelievably as it must seem I had not managed to finish my soup which was excellent before the main course arrived. we both felt that instead of a relaxed afternoon meal we were constantly rushing from one meal to the next. will someone please explain to the kitchen staff that if they are offering a salad bar then the kitchen should wait a suitable time .before sending out the starter. if we come again we would not order a starter which is a shame as the soup was excellent
