Terrible service. Given who runs it I'd been meaning to stop by for a while so thought I'd stop by during my walk home along the seafront just for a hot drink. Staff member gave me a menu and i then went to sit outside as it was full inside. I was not aware that I had to go to the till to order until 15 minutes later when another staff member came outside to give 2 other customers their drinks, who arrived after me. I asked and instead of apologising for being kept waiting, just told me that she can take my order inside now if I want. She clearly couldnt care less how annoyed I was. You might ask why i didnt come inside to ask to order sooner, and that was because i was on the only outside seats left and didnt want to lose them while going in. Very bad first experience so I have the staff member the menu back and went elsewhere.

Staff were very friendly. We order take away and the staff even brought the food to our car. It's small restaurant and wheelchairs can not go in. Maybe because it's kiosk. ☺. Food is perfect. We had fish and chips and would say its very crispy.Parking: Park in front of the kiosk. Depending of the day you visit as we went Friday lunch time and wet weather so plenty of parking.

Visited here with my mum this week, I must say the whole morning was wonderful. Greeted by staff with warm welcoming smiles, very attentive and happy, which makes all the difference. The view out to the Thames was an added bonus to go with our gorgeous breakfast. Food was of very good quality produce, tasted delightful and the coffee was yum! Will definitely be returning here again with my friends ?

Our first time here and it won't be our last! Excellent menu plus lots of daily specials. Service was spot on and good value, generous portions. Very friendly staff.

A trip to Southend isn't complete for us without Dinner in Oliver's.The food is always to such a High Standard, the staff are really happy and friendly. Also if they are busy they will take your mobile number and call you when the table is ready. Thanks a lot guys!

On a short trip out of London I decided to take my family to Southend and stay at this little cozy restaurant. Very good choice as the food proved to be up to the score in here . Very friendly staff and fast service. Food was absolutely delicious from starter to dessert. Just be prepared to wait to be seated as the place is small and many people are willing to eat here. I would gladly come back !

I Came in today 30/12 for the first time ever ( it will be my last ). We got seated after about 5mins. 3 ladies came in after us & got seated. We were left for 20mins. The lady waitress served the table that had came in after us & when I said something the waitress said ( oh give me 2minutes ) I was ok with that. 15mins later we are still waiting to be served again. We decided that after 30minutes of waiting we was going to leave & go elsewhere. As we left the waitress said ( oh you're next )!! Well I'm sorry but it's a bit late now. We have come to another nice place further down the road where we got served straight away. I'm a waitress & I wouldn't leave my customers waiting 30minutes without being served or acknowledged. Safe to say I won't be coming back!!!

The food is amazing- just a shame at how disorganised they are at actually getting you in and seated.I called up to ask what the wait time was as we had a toddler and didn’t want to wait too long. The lady said if we get there in 5mins there would be a table for us. So we rushed down there and arrived in under 5mins only to hear from a different lady that there are 6 people waiting to be seated and we would have to wait 15mins. We “shouldn’t have been told” we would be seated straight away as they don’t take bookings (we weren’t trying to book a table). We didn’t get called in after 15mins so went elsewhere- which was lucky as I got a phonecall 45mins later saying our table is ready. We’ve eaten there before and can confirm the food is really good but we’ve never had a stress-free experience here!Kid-friendliness: Do not go with a hungry child!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Oliver's for breakfast, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by an exceptional staff—warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive to every need. The food was amazing and delicious, the ambience of the place was heightened by the views over the Thames, creating a serene atmosphere that complemented the meal beautifully. The coffee deserves a special mention—it was expertly brewed, with a rich aroma and taste that provided the perfect finish to an exquisite breakfast. Oliver's is a must-visit for anyone seeking a top-notch breakfast experience in a lovely setting, I highly recommend it.

My first visit to Olivers as I live in Hertfordshire but was staying with my niece for a few days. The menu was quite extensive & all the dishes being served looked delicious. We both had the smoked salmon, cream cheese & rocket sandwich on granary bread which came with coleslaw & crisps. I have to say it was probably the best sandwich of that type I've ever had. Fresh, tasty bread, delicious salmon & coleslaw also delicious. If I lived closer I would definitely be a regular visitorVegetarian options: I noticed a few vegetarian options on the menu

Cracking “home cooked” food. Great size portions and really good atmosphere. Sometimes there is a wait for the table and it’s a cosy venue. Minor sacrifice as there is something on the menu for every taste. Super value.
