The garlic bread with mozzarella was half sized and there was no garlic. The calamari, dough balls and pizza tasted really nice.The service was patchy, there wasn’t enough staff, we were in there for 2 hours with 4 people because the food and drinks took too long and it was served sporadically.It was really noisy and the menu was hard to read for me because I have bad eye sight.Kid-friendliness: My grandchildren enjoyed it. Recommend for kids.Wheelchair accessibility: I came in with my mobility scooter and I was able to get in and out of the restaurant.

We came here as a group of nine, the only good thing was our waiter was really nice and helpful, unfortunately that's where the pros end. For a £260 bill we can help but feel a bit stung. They were quite clearly understaffed, everything was taking ages to get to the table due to lake of staff. The restaurant itself was really smokey like the extractor fans were not working properly so we all left with stinging eyes. When our food did come the pizzas were all cold where they put them on cold plates. We asked who we assumed was the manager in a black top for drinks as the waiter was busy with other tables, he just said a waiter will be over and walked off like he was above doing any real work, we still had to wait another 15 minutes after that. Ultimately a pretty poor show from this Pizza Express and I'm pretty sure wer can put most of our dissatisfaction down to poor management. Unlikely to return to this Pizza Express any time soon.

Was excited for a nice dinner with my husband and two children but was really disappointed! Waitresses were really miserable. Food mediocre. Prices on the high side. Drinks luke warm. All in all a real disappointment.

I met up with friends at Pizza Express on Tuesday night and had a wonderful time. The star of the evening was our waitress Hen who went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time.The food was really good and we did not feel rushed at all. Nice relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff.Hen you are a credit to Puzza Express, well done!Parking: There are a number of car parks nearby some are free after 6pm

Pleased to say this pizza express came to the rescue when Rayleigh branch told me they were full to capacity with the amount of staff they had. Such a contrast in staff politeness. Rayleigh we’re rude but Southend helpful and accommodating. Been a pizza express fan for approximately 35 years so yeh, loved it!

Severely understaffed! Each time I’ve visited they’ve had minimal waiters and chefs even on the busy days like the weekends. They’ll have a full restaurant and due to a lack of staff orders will be coming out late.

The worst customer services I have received and in addition I received my pizza the shouldn't be for the name of pizza express quality as missing ingredients ( sea food pizza missing tuna and 2 black olives on it as I asked specially for black olives , margarita pizza with barely cheese on it and when I asked the staff, they have answered in indirect way just get on with it.I gone to the shop to resolve the problem as I have been asked , but when I arrived there , they offered me to replace my order but they don’t have the ingredients in stock as the fridge is broken and no refund can be done then as no manager available. So it can’t be worse than that !!!!!!!!
