A traditional English pub with a warm welcome and a log fire. The food was delicious and the portions generous. Tracey and her family made us feel immediately "at home" and nothing was too much trouble. My wife and I from Leicester and son & daughter-in-law from Kent met here to exchange Christmas gifts. We had no idea that we were in for such a pleasant time, and we cannot wait to find any excuse to meet here again. Thank you Tracey and gang.

Booked for pre Christmas get together with brothers and cousins. Never been before but would certainly return. Staff were lovely and food was excellent - very generous portions. Relaxed atmosphere and not rushed at all so had plenty of time to chat. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Visited many times, always a friendly welcome- good range of beers, wines and excellent menu. Has a good feel to it, like a classic country pub but walkable from anywhere in Stansted Mountfitchet. Stacy will always make you feel like “ regular” and very welcome.

I'd been travelling all week. The trains across East Anglia were all haywire, so I aborted my journey at Stansted Mountfitchet and we wanted a good proper Sunday lunch to re-establish a bit of comfort. Which is where the Rose and Crown comes in. This is a proper village pup - cosy bar, locals enjoying lunchtime pints, and a staff team who are incredibly welcoming. They're also proud of what their kitchen produces - all home-cooked roasts (pork, beef, chicken) with Yorkshire puddings, loads of veg and superb gravy. This is what Sundays should feel like. It's a lovely and unpretentious set-up that made our Sunday feel just that bit more special.

Great pub .Had the Sunday roast which was excellent. The staff were very friendly and were very attentive. We choose this pub because we were taking our daughter to the airport later . We’ll definitely be back if we need to have a meal before we go to the airport

We are relatively new to the area and decided to try out a local pub for lunch. We struck gold.A very friendly young lady served us. The selection of food was excellent and the portions extremely generous. A log burning fire helped set the atmosphere. Apparently there is an extensive garden at the back so we will bring the grandchildren in the nicer weather and it is dog friendly. The downside was we were so full we couldn’t even dare look at the desert menu!

Had lunch here last Sunday, we didn’t have a booking so took a chance. The smell of the food as we were going in the door was so nice so we were hoping they would fit us in. And they did. We both had roast beef. I really like that they asked how we liked our beef cooked as I don’t like mine pink. Everything was delicious and lots of veg and gravy. Also like the fact that they had other options on a Sunday other than roast as others I’ve been to only do Sunday roast on Sunday. We will definitely be back.
