Trying to find a venue doing bottomless brunch in Essex on a specific Saturday in October was an absolute pain. Fortunately, Islas Bar in Westcliff pencilled one in. Great! A sing a long bingo brunch. We paid £40 each, which I think is a very reasonable price. The average is probably £45-60. We had a member of our party with dietary needs, who was also alcohol free. We were assured that the prosecco/rum punch could be swapped out for alcohol free. As soon as we got there, a bottle of prosecco was waiting on the table, which is great; love that as opposed to waiting for staff to come and top you up. When the bottle was empty, we asked for more, and it was provided, except towards the end, when we asked with plenty of time left but it didn't come and we had to remind them a couple of times. With regards to the food, we had some wedges and dips, and then a platter. They considered my friends dietary needs which was great. However other tables were getting nachos. We asked about these, we were told 'of course' but they never arrived. One table appeared to have burgers and onion rings too, but overall we were left disappointed by volume of food, particularly as we were drinking a lot. The food quality however was very good. At the end, a gentleman who we had not dealt with up until that point approached one of the party for payment. We advised we had already payed. He then came back and gave my friend who wasn't drinking, a bill for the mocktails. We advised we had agreed to soft drinks prior, and she had paid the same as us. He suggested that he was doing her a favour letting it pass, and that next time she would be better off ordering from a menu, but this option had not been suggested to us, which was disappointed. We felt the bingo element got a bit lost, but the music was great and it was a great vibe, hence the mixed review. Would I return? Probably- the pictures and reviews of roasts look great. I will put our brunch experience down to them perhaps needing more staff (they did have a big party in who were occupying a lot of time) and I think there needs to be a little bit more clarity in what food you get for your money, and alternative options, as although a good price for a bottomless, I would prefer more food when heavily drinking.

I have been Isla previously for a Roast, I went with my 2 little girls and friend and I couldn’t wait to go back. The food was absolutely unreal and the staff were super friendly and helpful. My daughters loved it as much as we did! So I went back with my boyfriend and children and the food was spot on again, lots of choices for drinks too. So clean in there and spacious. It is honestly one of the best places myself and boyfriend have been for a roast and we are always eating out! Will be back plenty more times for food and definitely a night out there! Xx

Loved it at Isla’s bar! Had a family catch up, food and drinks. The food was amazing, so tasty and catered for my gluten free requirements perfectly! The decor and ambiance is just perfect, great atmosphere and the staff are very attentive. DJ was brilliant too. The flower walls, booths, everything is just so pretty and perfect photo backdrops! It was our second time visiting and we are already arranging our next visit!!

Visited Islas bar this weekend for a family catch up with food/drinks. I had a tapas and the food was sensational. The drinks of course were unreal and the staff go above and beyond for all their guests. I would highly recommend!

If you are in westcliff this place is an absolute must! We have just had dinner and drinks here for a friends birthday. There are honestly no words that give this place justice. The staff are amazing and so accommodating. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners Codie & Sam who were really lovely. The guy that looked after us was Segun and he was such good fun and really professional, brilliant service. The chef Rhys is unbelievable, the food he produces is honestly outstanding. This place is an absolute gem and we will 100% be returning! The decor is also amazing and has been done really well! Really classy place and affordable.

Absolutely fantastic Sunday roast. Cannot recommend enough. Roast beef. Party of about 10. Sunday lunch club. Beef and pork, crackling. Cauliflower cheese, stuffing, potatoes. Just stunning. We know as have been all over Essex. The best yet. Reese the chef is just amazing.

Simply BRILLIANT. Visited Islas bar with the whole family 20 of us, for my birthday. The staff are absolutely fantastic! Kept our drinks flowing all night, the music was great and the children were welcome too. The roast dinner was by far the best roast I’ve had around the area. We will be back very soon!! THANK YOU ISLAS BAR!!!

2nd visit - drinks in the evening the first time staff welcoming and drinks and atmosphere fab. Lunch the second time food was amazing staff friendly put music of our choice on. Defrost be back. Beautifully decorated
Thought I would pop in for a drink, not a meal, but left after a few minutes. It was just before 1pm and there were no other customers. When I walked in there was no one behind the bar but the owner/manager/server was standing by the front door. No greeting or communication of any sort but she proceeded to take a personal phone call on her mobile and just sat down. Completely ignored me so I walked past her and left. As a 70 year old male I am guessing that I am not the clientele that they seek.

Had the roast and it was absolutely perfect! Tasted great, good portion size and well presented! The restaurant is stunning and the staff are so welcoming and friendly!
