SoPa Thai Westcliff

Everything was explained amazingly well so we learnt a lot about Thai cooking, and made some delicious dishes alongside. We can't wait to go back and learn some more meals!Thank you Owen and Nat!

There's a huge choice from the menu as well as a changing selection of dishes on the blackboard. You can have several dishes as a starter or as your main course and we enjoyed choosing a few different starters and sharing them. The food ranges from enormous pizzas, a variety of pasta, fish dishes, steak and interesting vegetarian options, and the portions are huge! Over a few visits, I've had mussels, mushrooms, grilled fish, pasta, and a delectable juicy steak in a wonderful sauce, and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. The staff are very friendly and helpful and there's a really nice cozy atmosphere. There's also outdoor seating to enjoy when the weather's good, or to nip out if you smoke or vape! We will definitely choose this lovely restaurant for our next get together

We've only ever had coffee and light snacks but there is a wide range on offer. Service is spot on, child and dog friendly! There is a small food store at the back selling Portuguese food and drink items. Pool table.

Food is fresh, delicious and staff are very welcoming and friendly. Everytime someone visits me, i treat them to Cod, chips and a sausage in batter and they’re always impressed. Large cod, large chips and 2 sausages in batter is enough to feed 2 adults so is also good value for money!

Sort of people that if you’re lovely to them, they’ll be and are lovely to you. If you’re not, they won’t be either. The food was absolutely unreal and the staff were super friendly and helpful. My daughters loved it as much as we did! So I went back with my boyfriend and children and the food was spot on again, lots of choices for drinks too. So clean in there and spacious. It is honestly one of the best places myself and boyfriend have been for a roast and we are always eating out! Will be back plenty more times for food and definitely a night out there! Xx

Great Tides Restaurant & Bar
18-20 Westcliff Parade, Westcliff-on-Sea, Southend-on-Sea, Westcliff-on-SeaMy friends and I booked a pre theatre meal here not really knowing what to expect and we can honestly say this is our new place to eat. We all had fish and chips which was absolutely delicious as well as piping hot. Desserts were varied but we all were amazed by the large portion sizes, including the ice cream. Toby ,our server was an absolute credit to the restaurant ,with his attentive service, helpfulness and friendly personality. We asked if Sangria was available and although it wasn't on the drinks list 2 jug fulls appeared at our table as they kindly made it up for us and was actually the best we've ever tasted.

The restaurant was busy but the service was quick and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had smoked duck breast to start, which was delicious. My wife had whitebait, which was cooked well and not greasy. As she ate everything, I assume it tasted great too! We both had fillet steak for main, and they were cooked perfectly - exactly as requested. Delicious! We didn't have room for dessert.... Overall, a fabulous meal with great service.

I have been a regular ,going to this H&H since it opened and recommend it as a drop in to many. All have enjoyed the staff , coffee and welcome recd. The manager, Tina is a gem. Some new staff for 2016 are in training and have all caught the buzz of their colleagues which is genuine.All age groups welcome especially men with beards. Siamese cats possibly ñot (yet).

Zinnia Restaurant Southend
Clifftown Shore, Western Esplanade, Westcliff-on-SeaThis was our first visit. It was a very nice, relaxed evening, food was excellent, server was very friendly, nothing was rushed. Started with cocktails and nibbles, which were both a different twist with an Asian theme to some classics. The food we chose as starters were very tasty to set us up for the mains. Very pleased that they had options for gluten free vegans. Most of us had the bento boxes, which were well presented and very good. The service isn't fast but that's not the vibe, this was exactly what we wanted, a relaxed dinning experience, overlooking the sea, in a nice environment. We expect to be return customers.
