We were looking for something to eat in wickford and didn’t know the area. Drove past this restaurant and thought we would give it a try. As we walked in, and when I saw the prices, I thought it would be pretty basic, how wrong I was! We were greeted by sammy who had a lovely smile on her face. She found us a lovely table and was so informative explaining the menu and how things worked. We all ordered a carvery and it was delicious. I was so surprised at the quality of the food for the price I was paying. Better than any roast twice the price that I’ve had before. Great food, great service and if I’m ever in the area again, I would definitely return. I had a beef carvery and the beef was so tasty, not chewy at all and very moist too. Sammy even helped my Nan back to the table.

I went to have a meal with people from work and it was great. Darby digger have really improved since I was last there as a kid. Decor is amazing. The bar setting was nicely layered out and the food was amazing. Had a veggie pizza and salted caramel vegan ice cream for desert and it was amazing. The chefs deserve a great pat on the back. The staff members were amazing tonight and what I’ve heard with Darby digger having new management is a massive improvement and the management deserves a massive pat on the back for their hard work and leadership. Great job guys. Overall the Darby Digger has changed for the best since the management have taken over. Complete recommend if your in the area. Solid 5/5

I visited this restaurant with some friends whilst visiting from Canada. The atmosphere is great and the staff were all very helpful. We had some questions on allergies and we spoke with Daryl who was very helpful and made us feel extremely comfortable with our options. He is a credit to the company and would return for sure!

Went out for a carvery with friends and the staff were lovely, gentleman on the bar (Darrel?) Was lovely and the carvery servers even brought us over a bowl of potatoes to our table when they were taking longer to come out.

We had and always had an amazing experience at Darby Digger Wickford. Were regular customers due to their great management and people pleasing skills. Our waiter was Fran. She was so lovely and accommodating. The food was out of this world! Cooked by Dale. Always and will always recommend x
We came Christmas Day phoned to double check my booking 5 times throughout December as email stated for 3 people only booked and paid for 2 which 2 people was what we wanted to book for was told to speak to Frankie could never get hold of Frankie so Henry spoke to me via phone and text I have confirmation text stating yes booked for 2 with food order and not to stress !! We got there Christmas Day booked for 3 ! Showed text thankfully kept it they deducted as said I owed money for it. I have now just received a call from Henry saying I had a bottle of Prosecco that needed paying on Christmas Day ! Sorry but I never ordered any alcohol with our dinner. I know Christmas Day was a busy day but waitress very slow and now added Prosecco to our table!! The staff in the kitchen cooking the roast are fantastic could not fault the roast dinner, starters of prawn & salmon was terrible. I don’t normally complain but staff need to keep check and update records especially Christmas Day and getting a phone call 27th saying I owe for drink never had ! Not good

Christmas Day. Mine and my husband's first time at Darby Digger. We went with our daughter, son in law and two grandaughters. Lovely food. Well done to all the staff on a really busy day, smiles on their faces, really helpful, the carvery staff who must have been baking with heat from it all. Thank you for a really lovely meal and stress free for us all. Well done and hope u get a well deserved rest at some point.

good spot, always have deals on drinks (cocktails 2-4-£12) - 6 shots £12.00. I usually go bar side, but they do have a restaurant for families etc. Free parking, nice outdoor seating for the summer days too
