The Hawk Inn
Hawk Hill, Battlesbridge, WickfordFood was amazing, really high quality roast with amazing Yorkshire puddings. The veg was perfectly cooked and varied, hands down the best place I've ever been with a great selection.However, not so for my vegan friend. Nowhere near enough on the plate and not filling. They need to come up with a good nut roast.Also the burgers, I was expecting hand made made a smash burger, but they were not up to the same standard as the roast which is a shame. I think the menu tries to deliver too much and so some dishes are not the same standard as the rest of the fare, which is awkward.The puddings were amazing though, so good. We will come again, but elsewhere if our vegan friend is coming.

52 High St, WickfordHaven't been in to dine for a long time and I'm glad we did, food of an excellent standard and quality, we dined at 1pm so restaurant quiet so can't say what service is like at busy times but waitress was polite,friendly and not too attentive which I like! I will be back for lunch to try out a pizza,it looked lovely with a thin Italian base so not too filling, the risotto I had was glorious, cooked well with a generous sprinkle of parmesan on top. Well done Tony's keep up the good standards and we will see you soon ?

Highly recommend the jackets, full English, in fact everything i have had has been lovely. The outside pods are dog friendly and they have heating so super cosy. I love going to this

9-11 Lower Southend Rd, WickfordGot to say, I have been attending Marco for years and every time we go it doesn't disappoint..Never had a takeaway away (if they do one?) But ambiance, service and food is and always has been top..I've eaten in many restaurants and this always sticks in my mind!Only down side i/we had was it was quite loud with a few tables enjoying themselves, when we was there as a family..Not restaurants fault and if I was there as a couple it wouldn't of been a problem, just we couldn't hear ourselves talk ? Not restaurants fault!Would we go again? Of course! Next week hopefully!

Huttons Cafe at Wickford Memorial Park
Rettendon View, WickfordWhile visiting the Wickford Memorial Park, decided to grab a bite at the Hutton's Cafe, managed by some really sweet people! Asked them for some good vegetarian options and they were kind enough to suggest some from their menu. They do have vegan options as well. Had a hearty meal sitting at sturdy and neat wooden benches right near the cafe shades by innumerable trees. Not just that, they do have takeaway option as well, using which you may carry food and beverages into the park playing area. Most importantly they have a children's menu, which would be a good fit for your child, who you obviously will be bringing along if you visit the park.With a lot of people the speed of service could go down a bit, but then when you are surrounded with all that greenery, sunshine and laughter, would you really care about speed? ?P.S. check out their vegan sausage. It's yummy and out of the world! Absolutely loved it!

Food came on time, was hot and delicious. I can only recommend it to locals if they have not tried there food. Apologies to the delivery guy as I only had Manx money on me and deserved a tip.

20 Runwell Road, WickfordAbsolutely Terrible. Waited 9 hours and it didn’t come. My child starved to death and it now on the floor. I think he is dead. My nan started to dance down the stairs she was so hungry. The staff on the phone are atrocious. My wife called up to order and she ended up having a seizure the staff were so rude. Two of my other kids started banging their head in the cupboard doors because they were so hungry. I would like a £10,000,000 voucher due to this eventful night.

10 Runwell Rd, WickfordI always order from here religiously, food is delicious, great service, always very quick on delivery, Also the owner kindly done me a favour once as I built a relationship with him so nothing to fault for these guys. The best thing on the menu are the king prawns in garlic butter, unreal. Prices are very cheap too.

It wasn’t great so I expressed this to staff and they immediately changed our order for free of charge. Kel from the kitchen, I believe assistant manager was so understanding and very polite, Steve our server was polite and had great customer service. Billy from the bar was also so polite.Thank you for rectifying our problem and making it a nice experience for us.

Really enjoyed the well cooked breakfasts, we tried the normal and the veggie, vegetarian sausages very tasty, but what impressed us most was the team of friendly, polite and hard working youngsters, who went about their job quietly, efficiently and most of all pleasantly. They are all a credit to the business. Well done all of you, and keep it up!

Anyway, quite some time later I decided to try it for lunch last week. Half chicken and chips lunch meal for £5.99 which I've had before and been very disappointed with the quality of the chips. However, last week they were nigh on perfect, excellent quality - I actually wondered if the place had been taken over by new people. So to better confirm the experiment I chanced it again yesterday, hake and chips for £4.99. Damn that was a very decent portion and surprisingly once again, the chips were spot on. I should have taken a photo. My opinion of the place has risen exponentially. The web pre-order service was always very handy. Now in saying all that, their normal prices are the worst in town and I'll likely never visit outside of lunch hours.

Arterial Road, WickfordArrived at the Turpin and parked in the very large carpark. Greeted at the door and shown to our table. The same excellent service as we have come to expect. Food was really good, very succulent turkey, as if I didn't have enough over Christmas. Due to the standards being so good, this is the only carvery we use. They also have a nice selection of Greene King beers.
