Great local pub. They’ve done a good job inside with the decor, feels like a nice place to spend a rainy afternoon. The food we ate was mostly great - steak good, fish good, ham a little underwhelming. Few small niggles, but nothing that would put us off coming back. Recommended.

Parked up here at 4pm on a Sunday. We walked into what seemed like someone's front room and felt like we were imposing. There were small children laying on the floor rolling around near the door, not really what u expected to be entering too. A man said if we walk through we go round the back to tables for eating. We walked around, and I asked if we could see the menu. The lady replied the kitchen was shut, bearing in mind it was 4pm on a Sunday, and on their website, it says Sunday roast 12-6pm. Obviously, they don't want business. We won't bother to return here, stepping over the kids rolling on the floor on our way out it's not really the atmosphere you would expect.

Amazing Sunday lunch. Food cooked to perfection, the cauliflower cheese is to die for. We would come every week given the chance!

Went for Sunday Lunch with our little Cavapoo pup. The food was really tasty and well presented. The service was quick and friendly and we were made to feel really welcome with our doggy who also got a treat from the kitchen. There were a few people in the bar area where we were sitting and the place seemed homely. We will go back for sure.

We have been here numerous times over the years but after today, never again. The service was slow, no atmosphere whatsoever and the Sunday Roast was one of the worst we have eaten out. Half a slice of bread with the prawn cocktail. No offering of butter and very bland sauce. The Roast was very poor. Watery Gravy, boiled parsnips that hadn’t been roasted and the roast potatoes were awful, not roasted as they were meant to be. Half a carrot each and some cabbage. We ordered a cauliflower cheese side dish which was lovely before. But today I think the chef forgot the cheese. It was just a watery white sauce. We didn’t hang around for dessert. And even after expressing how dissatisfied we were with the meal we were offered no discount like other restaurants would. I thought maybe it was just bad luck today but I have seen other reviews with similar POV regarding the Sunday Roast.

Went in for Sunday roast, meat was ok, veg was ok, but quite a few of the roast potatoes were black In the middle, we told the bar staff who offered an apology but we thought it should have come from the chef. Would not rush back

We were recommended this pub, and tried it twice, once for dinner on Friday (apparently no, the last serving was 1930) and once for lunch on Sunday (apparently no, the three tables in the largely empty pub were all that they could handle). It may well be lovely but good luck finding a time to be served!
