A lovely pub with good service. Years ago we stayed there for one night. The accommodation is lovely and the breakfast was very good. With a varied selection of either continental or a full English breakfast .This time myself and my wife went there for a weekday lunch it absolutely lovely. The bar lady who may have been the owner was great and cheerful. Definitely worth a visit hence five stars.Rooms: As above

Stopped off for Sunday dinner, which sadly proved a big mistake. Very slow service was capped by two of the worst Sunday roasts we've ever experienced, a total waste of money!

Great range of tasty food, not the standard pub grubFood & drinks: Large selection on the menu, lunch menu extremely good value

A lovely pub, it has rooms but I didn't stay. A very friendly pub with great staff, I had food which was very nice and was so much I couldn't eat it all, we were a group of 10 and they managed us all very well.

6 of us ate here Sunday 11/2/24 after a local walk along the Cotswold Way. Great range of drinks at the bar & foods on the menu with very decent size helpings. Including drinks, the bill came to £30 a head for starter & main course each - very happy. Service was good with very friendly staff. Dogs were allowed in which is a bonus and seems to be a regular thing with many other customers in there.

Lovely food. Friendly staff. But £1.90 for a pint of soda water from the tap?
Decided to come off the M4 motorway on a long journey from Hampshire to west Wales to have some, hopefully, real and good food rather than service fast food and was so glad of the decision when I had a lovely plate of lamb shank with veg at a great price. Definitely a recommendation should you find yourself in the vicinity ??

First visit. Warm friendly welcome. Good selection of beers and a cracking Sunday lunch. Will be back.

Left it a bit late to be able to get a room in Bath so stayed here instead. Pub is traditional and is well located for a short trip into Bath.Service was good as was the inclusive breakfast.Room was large but quite tired, however reasonable for the price.

Didn't know what to expect as I'd seen mixed reviews, but stopped off here for lunch on a walk and it was excellent! Great service, food, and value for money- what more do you need! Also kid and dog friendly.

Can't fault the staff, they were lovely, friendly and professional. Food however was disappointing. We all had roasts. Food arrived on cold plates, only thing hot was the roast potatoes. The meat was overdone and the veg was undercooked. We've eaten at The Dog many times and the food has always been great, but today was very disappointing.
