Came in with my grandmother who is a regular customer and has never had any issues before hence why I feel it's a one off but worth noting our experience. We had two waitresses one on drinks I think, she didn't introduce herself nor explain that we'd have two waitresses initially. The second one we saw briefly, Millie/Milly, was lovely. The same waitress who was on the drinks offered us a dessert menu, never returned to take our order, then when my grandma politely called her over and she proceeded to collect glasses on the other table, ignoring us, twice, neither time acknowledge us and we wanted to order. I appreciate she may have been stressed as it was a busy day but it was a shame as it tainted our day. I trust this was a one off but it is important to raise awareness. In my food there was cling film in my chicken and I was surprised that I didn't receive any discount nor anything complimentary. Overall, it seemed like a general off day for them but each customer counts and it didn't seem as though we did this time! I trust this will be rectified next time. I would have emailed but couldnt easily spot one on the website.

We had Sunday lunch here. 4 adult roasts, and 1 child roast, and 2 children’s burgers.I had real high hopes of this place after hearing such great reviews, and was left feeling…meh.First of all the service staff were fantastic. We had a lovely waitress and she was helpful and happy and just very good. However the wait was long. I know they’re busy but it was such a long wait waiting to order and getting our food. But as I said they were super busy. Now the food, this is where we were disappointed. My mum and I had the pork, and when it came it was the thinnest pieces, and overcooked. The fat wasn’t rendered at all and it was chewy. Also 3 tiny slim slices for £15.95 a roast I feel is on the pricier side. My dad had the chicken and that was nice, my sister had the beef and was underwhelmed. Again, overcooked. The veg, although plenty of it, was simply steamed, not a hint of trying to make it tasty with a hint of butter or salt and pepper. It was very home cooked like. The stuffing ball I had was rock hard and overcooked. The Yorkshire was nice, the gravy tasted of nothing and the roast potatoes lacked seasoning. To be honest everything just lacked. As I mentioned £15.95 for a roast isn’t cheap, and we’ve been to a carvery over near Hereford that was the same price and it was just so so much better.I hope they don’t take this as negative criticism but something to work on. People like their veg to taste of something that’s all. And having overcooked meat and underwhelming gravy is a no for a roast. My child’s burger was ok. The chips were nice. My other child’s roast was big and he enjoyed his chicken as that was very nice. Also the cauliflower cheese was fantastic! The best part of the meal for all of us.

The food quality and presentation was excellent, and this was mid-week. Plenty of choice with main menu and specials. Service was also good. Just one thing though, if you display fresh flowers on tables (and this is really nice touch) then they need to be fresh and not half dead. Parking is extremely limited.

First time here, we moved to Tutshill and a few of our neighbours had recommended it, wish we’d tried it sooner. From the friendly welcome when we arrived, the 2 girls serving the food were outstanding, especially the one who went and checked out another customer’s belly of pork to see how fatty it was for me ☺️ lovely cosy interior in the pub, there were 2 birthday celebrations whilst we were there (Saturday night) so a couple of rounds of happy birthday when everyone joined in. Food was great, the smoked mackerel starter was a meal in itself and the chocolate tart very well presented. I was also impressed when all the staff said “bye” when we left, so friendly, I wish everywhere else was more like that, we’ll definitely be back and want to try their Sunday roasts which the neighbours also rave about.Food & drinks: Great menu, excellent food, well presented with fab friendly staff

The presentation of the pub was very good, the food was excellent. I had the slow cooked beef and it was perfect. The side of onion rings were the best I have had. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food provided.

Food good, bot a great amount of choice l always busy so leave plenty of time as the service is on the slow side. Wonderful atmosphere I'm sure it would be lovely in the garden during summertime. Not many parking

Visited twice this weekend, once for dinner on Friday and for Sunday lunch today. Both meals were fantastic - Amazing food and service, fair portion sizes at fair prices.

Nice burger, it was a good enough meal for my mum’s birthday. Pretty expensive though and the fries weren’t the best.
