Had a lovely 4 night break with family. Nice rooms, no lift but my 86 year old Mother managed very well. All staff very friendly & helpful, especially Carol on the front desk. It was my brothers birthday while we were there & they helped with our celebration bringing out a cake, singing happy birthday & gave him a card. Good selection for breakfast & evening meal. Would be happy to stay again some time. Thank you to all.

Went for a family meal and was a central location in the UK for us. We came in 2016 previously. Food was SUPERB, just lovely. We all had a roast dinner and a pudding. Service was very polite but a little slow, not their fault; they were rushed off their feet. Could have done with an additional pair of hands. Would come again and would recommend.

Had a roast and beef was tough staff very quick to apologize and change our plate. All I said was don't advertise it as pink and tender and then serve dark and tough. That's down to the chef restaurant staff were great

We were sure in need of a good bed after a long day on The Cotswold Way.We certainly found that here, so comfy we slept in!There was a very warm welcome from the reception staff and a welcome drink at the bar.We had a solid pub dinner which was needed as was the full English Breakfast as the next day is a long one!Highly recommended

Review for meal in the bar not a stay at the hotel. Popped in for lunch..Dog friendly in the bar and garden. Mushroom and ale pie off. Ordered 2nd choice..gnocchi. Swimming in oil..really could not eat it. Staff happy to provide an alternative. Ended up choosing breaded mushrooms and salad so partner and I could eat our meals more or less together. Not an enjoyable dining experience. Apparently the gammon was really tasty. So based on the plant based meal...will not be rushing back anytime soon.

We went for a meal for a family birthday but sadly we’re disappointed. We had booked the restaurant which is jaded and in need of a make-over. The service was indifferent and the the food of poor quality. No table checks were made even though the restaurant was not full. One of the guests ordered lasagne which was burnt and unappetising. The chips had clearly been reheated and were unpleasant and the sausage and mash was drowned in gloopy gravy. Conversation in the bar area was almost impossible because of the ‘entertainment’ The Royal George used to be one of our favourite ‘locals’ for a relaxing drink and lunch but this latest experience has put us off visiting again.

Booked a one night stay and were and were lucky to be there on quiz night. Dinner and breakfast good value. Room a bit old. Bed was good, bathroom lovely. Hinge on wardrobe door loose. Hotel were helpfully when my wife lost some jewelry which we have found later. We will be back ..Food & drinks: Good beer and food was excellentNoteworthy details: Reception staff were excellent

Very welcoming even before we arrived with a lovely call from Elaine on reception as I had asked if they had a room with a walk in shower. Bar staff friendly great turn on Saturday night. Fabulous breakfast. A fabulous weekend all in all. Only downside was this is a cheaper hotel than most but quite a few of their clientelle thought they were in the ritz without paying ritz money and were quite rude with the staff there. They deserved respect with how they dealt with some jumped up customers.

Terrible service from surely teenagers, and greyly terrible food. Risotto seriously undercooked; steak over cooked and staining on the beer glasses. Please don’t waste your hard earned cash eating here.

Great value food, nice atmosphere and village. Leyla is a wonderful member of staff in the restaurant - well done! Wide range of food and beers, lovely entrance area and easy parking. Menu offer fantastic this month, get there...

We stayed overnight room only. The hotel is well located and within easy reach of the main Cotswold tourist villages. We had a nice meal in the evening and there was a live singer, who was great. The room had a four poster bed, but was a little dated, nevertheless we had a nice stay. The only thing that let this hotel down was the lady who managed the breakfast dining on Sunday morning. We simply asked if we could have something lighter than a full English - we are not big eaters and hate to waste food. A simple bacon bap or the children’s breakfast would’ve sufficed. She looked at us like dirt when requested. She said the big breakfast is all we could have. We asked if there was anywhere else nearby that could cater for a lighter pallet, but again got such a filthy look and the answer was ‘no’. We ended up going half a mile up the road to The Golden Heart Inn who gave us a small breakfast eg 1 sausage, 1 egg, beans and toast. It was delightful. We shall stay here next time. Such a shame there are rude staff at The Royal George, everything else was great.

Lovely, spacious hotel. Staff very friendly and comfortable room. The food was not very good. Garlic mushrooms were dry inside. I had to send the Hunters Chicken back because it was so tough I couldn’t cut it or chew it. It had obviously been microwaved. The onions rings were also tough and dry. The replacement was better but not great. The waiter was very helpful. I think it’s the first time I’ve ever sent a meal back. Breakfast was excellent.

Super nice staff. A great pub right on the premises. Both the beef pie I had, and the traditional English breakfast were well cooked, served piping hot and were absolutely delicious. They even let me check in a little bit early. My only complaint is how thin the walls are in the rooms. I was pretty sure my neighbor was either running a chainsaw all night, or had undiagnosed sleep apnea. Unfortunately, because of the thin walls, I got an earful.Great location, I would book it again and pray for a quieter sleeping neighbor.

What an excellent hotel. Why its only a 3 star god only knows. We had our daughters wedding there Michelle and Rob. The staff could not been more helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. Congratulations to the manager for such a wonderment. Can't recommend this hotel enough. Thank you
