Returned last night with 3 other couples. We love this place for the food, the very relaxed atmosphere, interesting wines but above all amazing, knowledgeable staff. Our waitress spent ages explaining the dishes and even had the patience to try to translate different levels of spiciness to comparable Indian dishes. The food was delicious.

We had a family meal at The Railway and the quality and taste of the food was fantastic. There were good vegan options too. The beer selection was fantastic, with taps from multiple great breweries e.g. DEYA, Bristol Beer Factory, Siren.

My friend and I went here before a gig at the Frog and Fiddle round the corner. Firstly it is a great pub even if you are not eating. Good beer in a great atmosphere. We shared prawn crackers and pork and prawn dumplings to start which were both very tasty. My friend had a main of Koisoi chicken yellow curry with rice and I had duck breast with chilli and ginger sauce glaze plus a roti. Both were terrific and different to the usual Thai staples. It is not cheap at about £17 or so for a main dish with rice or roti but we both felt it was worth it for the wonderful flavours.

I've been coming here for years, it's by far one of the best pubs in Cheltenham, if not Gloucestershire. Lovely staff, great music, lovely food, great atmosphere and an amazing selection of regional drinks.\\n\\nLiterally have nothing bad to say about it.

Exceptional place to gets drinks and some incredible food, swung by and stayed for more than intended, had the BBQ Panang curry (wow!) it was delicious. The service was impeccable, everyone was friendly and really made us feel welcome!

Food was delicious. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable of the dishes available.\\n\\nThe prawn dumpling was crispy and very tasty. The marinated steak was sublime. The whole seabass was rather large for one person, but was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked inside.\\n\\nThe atmosphere was lively with a great buzz to the place.\\n\\nOnly slight gripe was the wine prices. Thought they were on the high side, but there was a decent choice available.\\n\\nWould definitely come again.

We didn’t expect much as this was the place we went to just for another drink. But when we went inside and smelled all the food we stayed for dinner too. And oh my god - I think it’s the best Thai I’ve had in ages! The whole place is really nice too - it’s on the posher side when you think of it as a pub, but in a good way! And the staff was so nice too! I definitely recommend!

I have been to the Railway about 3 or 4 times. Previously I had been when they used to do Sausages rather than thai food.\\nSo this time I went along with 4 of my workmates and we booked ahead and ordered ahead of time also.\\nWe arrived 30 minutes early as we wanted to have a couple of pints before the meal. They just sat us down in our booked table. They do have Deya on tap which is my favourite so that was great.\\nI had the pork dumplings for starter, which was OK, but I wished I had picked something different.\\nFor main I had the duck and some roti and they were both outstanding. The duck is well worth trying.\\nThere was a bit of confusion over what my workmates ordered as they asked for the pork but were given the duck. But they sorted that out quickly and made the pork for them.\\nWhilst we were there a pub quiz started so we thought we would do it. The hardest quiz I've ever done! A round on serial killers, politicla quotes! We did terribly but it was fun.

Excellent Thai! I used to live out there so Thai food in UK is usually a bit naff but this is (in my humble opinion) the best I've found in Cheltenham in terms of authentic flavour. More vegan/veg options would be nice though!

Lovely mid week meal when my family came to visit. Excellent service and the staff very helpful. Plenty room inside and people still being mindful of space, masks etc. The food was delicious. The small plates are a good portion too. Worth a visit.

On holiday in Cheltenham and looked up good pub restaurants and found The Railway. What a find, really tasty Thai cuisine in a pub atmosphere - unbelievably helpful waiting staff - Friday evening, the pub was packed and very noisy, so we asked if we could be moved to a quieter part of the pub, no problem at all, our food, and drinks were moved for us and we were shown into a quieter area and even asked if we'd like to sit near the heater - We've been to Thailand many times and this is without doubt the best Thai food we've had since we were in Chiang Mai

The railway is genuinely one of the best places to ‘just go for a drink’ or to ‘find a really good ipa’ or for ‘arguably the best Thai in the area’ and also ‘a beautiful beer garden’ and it’s because of its ability to tick all these boxes that it’s done so well in recent years.\\n\\nThe craft sausage restaurant idea was a tad too niche but with Smokey Phi-Phi, they have a beautiful smelling wood fired Thai grill on the go - it’s defo worth trying the duck or marinated sirloin as they’re just excellent tasting dishes with a cold pint of a local IPA.\\n\\nRecently had some tap takeovers which makes it a must-visit for the craft beer enthusiasts and one for the guys in there, Alex, knows a thing or two about pints and is always happy to chat.\\n\\nFinally, it’s the perfect place to take a dog. The staff are super friendly to dogs, offering bowls of water and biscuits as well as generally going out their way to make you and your pooch feel welcome.
