Booked Fig restaurant for special family meal the night before our son's wedding in the area. Son had crab cakes which gave him food poisoning; up all night and big day ruined. This place should be shut down; a total disgrace.

Fantastic visit to the fig today for afternoon tea, service was fantastic, all the waitresses were so friendly and attentive, food was excellent and the setting was lovely. Visited for a special birthday treat and we were all so impressed. Definitely return

Check - good. Parking - good. Staff - helpful. Refurbishment is needed in the room. I stayed in a double room with bath. Brown damp marks on walls and ceiling above the bed. Some lights not working. There is a raised and separated laminate floor in the bath area, showing the original floor underneath in areas. The carpet has come away from the threshold strip (the strip between the carpet and the hard floor) now revealing the metal grippers. My foot knows this intimately. Curtains didn't shut completely. One of the chairs in there is broken at the base, it's extremely wobbly and an accident waiting to happen. Dinner was good, and the food was excellent. Breakfast was also good. Fabulous location, truly beautiful.

I had a spa deep massage treatment. Since the hotel was located at the town centre, it is a busy area and car parking space may be limited on holidays. The hotel itself had good environment with a nice garden. Therapist was very nice and attentive, massage was effective and I felt very much refreshed afterwards. Highly recommended.

Stayed from Monday to Friday Staff where brilliant with no trouble Did not have any evening meals but had breakfast which was lovely Right in the centre of the town Beautiful gardens Free parking Only downside is that there are no lifts and our room was up 2 storeys on a spiral stairway Make sure not to ask for room 25 When I booked the hotel I forgot to tell them that I had a heart condition ( completely my fault) so found the stairs very hard Our room 25 was nice but needed decorating, the room door you had to slam the door to shut and as you can imagine made a lovely noise to to the adjoining rooms Would stay there again without any trouble

Stayed here for one night over the Easter weekend - the hotel is a great location situated in the heart of Chipping Campden, everything is right on your doorstep from this hotel! The room was spacious and well kept, the staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Would definitely recommend! Thank you!

We requested to cancel our booking they said No but tell booking.com to move it so we did and booking.com contacted the hotel and they said NO we explained that our son had got a life limiting illness and had been rushed into hospital now on antibiotics and awaiting an operation. What sort of hotel are you that would not consider this request. Disgraceful

We stayed here the day after our wedding for two nights and honestly we would never go back, in fact we didn’t even eat there the second night! The reception staff on arrival was really unhelpful, our room wasn’t ready which is fine as we were early However no info on hotel, no offering to store luggage, no info on car parking and where we needed to go. Not even a ‘grab a drink in our bar’ When we did get into our room it was very dated and dusty. Even the tv remote was dirty. The only good thing was the bath was huge and lovely to lie in! Breakfast was nice but service wasn’t great. I even got created by the host as ‘oh it’s you’ which I’m not too sure what was meant by it! The dinner in the evening was ok, starter was not great at all and the chicken liver parfait was grey in colour along with the chutney! Wouldn’t return’

This was a surprise gifted stay. What a lovely hotel made especially lovely by the very attentive, if over stretched staff. We stayed in one of the cottages called Griggs which was in the beautifully laid out gardens. The room was very generous in size and the bed was large and incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was absolutely perfect. Large, a lovely large bath and shower with lots of power and hot water. Dinner was delicious as was the breakfast. It would have been lovely if the fires had been lit but it would have made more work, I expect, for the staff. We were blessed with sunny weather after a rainy march.

Lovely location and a well maintained and appointed premises. We had a larger bedroom with a bath which overlooked the street which was spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was lovely and the bistro menu, albeit not cheap, the food was great. All the staff are helpful, polite and friendly. We had a session in the spa, which because numbers are limited made for a pleasant experience.

Me and my wife stayed here and it was perfect. All the staff were very helpful and very polite. We celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary and they made it feel very special. We had a treatment each in the spa and it was so relaxing. Thank you all, we will definitely be coming back.

We have been at this hotel over a year ago and it was so so much better than this time around, when my wife booked she mentioned it was our 34 wedding anniversary. The first issue started by receiving an email with the wrong information so she called back and the receptionist fixed the problem and resend the correct one and at the same time she booked the first night dinner for 8pm as we explained that we may arrive a bit later due to traffic etc. upon arrival we checked in and she was told that the table was booked at 7pm and not at 8pm as we specifically advised, once again they managed to fix their mistake but they just cause really stressful arrival at this point the weekend that should be our anniversary rapidly turned into a disappointment and concern. Second day we turned into the restaurant for dinner as previously booked with what we believe to be either head waiter/manager to seat at the same table witch was confirmed twice by the same guy, however the girl hosting our arrival had not a clue what she was doing not many bookings in but she was almost telling me of that we never booked because it wasn’t showing on her List. Finally we finished our meal and gone to the room. This time around clearly they are serious communication issues, my wife was told that the SPA would call her back Friday morning because they ware closed when she called. That never happened either. A poor experience and full of stressful times what a shame.

Like other guests I too was a little worried having read some negative reviews however, our 3 night stay was wonderful! From checking in to leaving all the staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful, too many to mention but thank you Azouz, Bart, Sonia and the chefs. Our room number 23 was spacious and very clean. (Management please fix the dressing table mirror). I have Coeliac disease so am always apprehensive when staying in hotels but everyone was totally “clued up” and I felt very confident about everything I ate. (Management please supply brown gluten free bread, white is abysmal) The location is second to none and despite all the snow we were able to get out into the hills straight from the hotel in fact once we were parked, the car wasn’t used until we made our way home. We will definitely return in the future and have no hesitation in recommending this brilliant hotel.

What a marvellous hotel, a huge bed, double sized bath & a large shower but the hotel isn’t just the buildings themselves, the staff were exceptionally helpful. A big shout out to Sonia & Connor for their smiling friendly service at the breakfast table, but that shouldn’t detract from all the other staff in the hotel, bistro and spa who were excellent too.

I was slightly nervous, as a few online reviews seemed to be a bit hit and miss... however, our experience was one of wonderful staff, a really delightful hotel, excellent location and amenities. A really lovely hotel in a charming Cotswolds village. We paid extra for a superior room and it was very, very nice. Large room with a massive bathroom with bath and shower on the top floor. Extremely comfy large bed. Chaise lounge, desk for working, fireplace etc. Couldn't fault the room. Had 3 very good nights sleep. Breakfast was delicious, nice to be able to pre book the cooked breakfast in advance. Sonia the waitress stood out as being very personable and friendly. Dinner was incredible, we had 3 courses including the cote de boeuf with wine. No complaints at all. Staff very friendly and accommodating and helped my pregnant wife with her bags when we arrived. The spa was also very nice and relaxing, lovely hydrotherapy pool and steam room. Would love to return, it exceeded our expectations. Not cheap, but we wanted to pay a bit extra for somewhere nice and that's what we got.
