One of our favorite restaurants in chipping campden! Friendly welcome from all staff especially our waiter, Mehedi, who recommended amazing dishes and made sure to take care of us throughout the evening. Highly recommend to everyone!

Consistently good , good portion sizes and good ingredients ,I lowered my star rating due to Telephone ordering being difficult as poor standard of English spoken and order is often incorrect ,

Just had the most amazing meal. We have eaten in many Indian restaurants but this has to be one of the best! Generous portions cooked with fresh produce, herbs and spices made for a wonderful evening. Friendly staff too….honestly couldn’t have asked for more. We will definitely return when next in Chipping Campden!

Very good food. Mehedi, our server, was outstanding. We are somewhat unfamiliar with Indian food, and he took time to explain dishes and make recommendations based on our preferences. The food was perfectly seasoned, high quality, and satisfying. We highly recommend ?

Our first time in Chipping Campden and we explored all the available dining options with a Thursday night at this recommended restaurant. Very good service as was the food. Attached to the Volunteer Inn so good beers too! Furthermore, if you want to stay they have rooms as well!

Recommended so booked for a meal, it was amazing. Staff very friendly, wouldn’t hesitate to return. We had 2 courses which was very reasonably priced.

My wife and I were hiking a section of the Cotswold Way with two other couples from our hometown of Cincinnati OH. We spent our first night, before starting the hike, at the Volunteer Inn in Chipping Campden, to which Maharaja is attached. We had a great experience. The food is excellent: I had Chili Chicken, 10 out of 10 on the spiciness scale. When the server brought it, he noticed that it didn’t look spicy enough and took it back for more heat. When it returned, it was just what I’d had in mind. I love spicy food, and it’s rare that a restaurant hits the mark. Maharaja did. All six of us really like our food and the service. I want to put in a special word about Mehedi, our server. He was, as implied above, terrific. Attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and friendly without going overboard. He really added to our enjoyment of the evening. I recommend Maharaja without reservation.

Our server, Mehedi, was awesome and the food was authentic Indian...top shelf for sure! Good pricing as well!

Tucked away behind the Volunteer Inn this is not your usual curry house setting. That said they trade off each other and business is brisk so best book in advance. As part of the original building the restaurant occupies what was once a living room with a fireplace. The decoration is a bit spartan and the bar area within looks like a canteen serving hatch. But we are here for the food which was freshly cooked and well constructed with spices. Attentive service on what was a busy summer evening. Worth hunting down.

Lovely traditional Indian food, starting with pappdums and chutney, great peshwari nan, tasty starter plate, and delicious mains. We'll go back for sure when we return to Chipping Campden!

Excellent food, a menu more interesting than most other Indian restaurants I have visited. Great service too.
