A group of around 20 bellringers spent 3 nights here. We had a very reasonable package including breakfast and three course evening meal. Having read some TA reports, I was a little apprehensive of what had been booked for us. I shouldn’t have, because everything was excellent. My brother and I shared a large twin room in one of the extensions which had plenty of space ( Room 39) and a large sofa, with no outside noise interference. The breakfast was to a high standard, and vegetarian sausages were available on request. Decor was fine throughout, evening meal choices were very good. We were impressed by the skills of the chefs, who obviously hadn’t been taught using the ping-ping microwave way. Many items were obviously home made, and they excelled on the sweets. Would definitely stay here again, and even the American visitors didn’t talk too loud, and they get a lot. Definitely worth a visit if staying in the Cotswold area.

As a couple we had two nights booked so that we could attend a wedding locally. Staff were polite and the reception area is well decorated. However, once you pass the reception you notice that much of the hotel is gloomy and airless. Our room was number 4 on the ground floor. It is very dated! Old fashioned furniture and fittings, shabby colours. A small bathroom with an inbath shower. The patio doors open onto a weed patch and is opposite the laundry store. There are no net curtains so your only option when getting ready is to have the poor main light on and the thick curtains closed. The worst was yet to come. The guests above alarm went off at 5.30am (yes, we could hear it) we were then forced to listen to two hours of their thumping around and talking. This occurred both morning. The issue is that this old building is not soundproofed and very squeak of every floorboard could be heard in our room. The breakfast was quite good and the staff were very pleasant. I’m sorry but I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone who likes their sleep or values their peace and quiet.

Avoid this hotel……shockingly overpriced and located on a main road. Misleading pics of the types of room you are booking. Musty smells in the corridor, tired decor, shabby bathroom, weird decorations in the room and the smallest most uncomfortable double bed I have ever slept in. When I checked out there wasn’t one question on how my stay was.

We hadn’t managed to have a summer holiday due to caring for family so booked a much needed long weekend away. We booked a classic double room with breakfast which cost over £534 for 3 nights. We were allocated room 12 on the ground floor overlooking the garden (and the Morrisons local shop). Out of the hotels control but on the first morning I was woken at 6am by the delivery to Morrisons being unloaded. The noise from the metal trolleys was really loud. Positives 1. breakfast was a choice of cereal, fruit, yogurt, pastries, toast or full English (bacon, fried eggs, sausages, mushrooms, beans & tomatoes). This was delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive. (I didn’t realise you could choose scrambled egg though until I overheard someone ask for it on the morning of check out. 2. Parking was easy with on site car park and on street parking if no space 3. Daily room service Negatives 1. Bathroom contained a bath with shower over which was quite dated, signs of mould on tiles which made it look grubby, toilet was rather grubby 2. Not much space in bathroom to hang wet towels 3. hook on back of bathroom door missing but holes where it used to be still there 4. Carpet in bedroom stained 5. Thick heavy blackout curtains at bedroom window but no privacy nets so If you wanted to relax in the room in the daytime you either sat in the dark or could be seen by people walking past your bedroom window which happened (rail is still there so assume they used to have privacy nets) 6. Safety check stickers on kettle and hairdryer were outdated 7. Coffee & sugar supplied in a Kilner jar rather than sealed packets which doesn’t seem very hygienic 8. Bed & pillows were quite uncomfortable 9. The information folder showed how to control the air conditioning but our room did not have air conditioning and was very hot 10. Each time we walked through the bar area with sofas there was nobody at the bar to serve 11. You could hear a lot of noise from the room above, people walking, banging on the floor as if they were throwing shoes down, this was until midnight one night and again early in the morning All in all we had a lovely weekend away but I think the price was expensive for the quality, cleanliness or comfort of the room. I didn’t raise concerns whilst there as there was nothing they could do in time we were staying to improve the tired looking room. If the hotel was revamped it would be lovely.

Had a great night, catching up with friends. Wouldn't hesitate to come back in the future Food in restaurant is first class Staff friendly and welcoming - Some great young people serving at dinner and breakfast Location is great for many local places to visit Nice bar Some of the corridor carpets and walls a bit tired and in need of decoration Garden could do with some TLC

The Pudding Club! Need I say more? Some of the rooms are named after famous puddings and decorated to a theme that is fun and delightful. My room had a balcony that overlooked the garden, comfortable chairs to really relax into and elegant lighting and lamps. What a haven after a frenetic day of sight-seeing. The bathroom was top notch with a bath and shower. The ladies were hard-working and delightful to talk to and eager to please. Although I dined at the local pub just down the road (for the fun and atmosphere of the 'local pub'), my fellow travellers dined at The Three Ways and had only positive things to say about the food, but they said the puddings were the 'icing on the cake' - made me regret opting for the pub. That full English breakfast the next morning though was everything I could want, with only one omission -- Worcestershire Sauce! I didn't mind asking for it, but....is an English breakfast a true English Breakfast without Worcestershire Sauce?

Had a very enjoyable stay earlier this month. The bedroom was spacious and overlooked the garden/lawn and enjoyed all the usual facilities with complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, bottled water, soap shampoos etc. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked with all the usual choices of a full English breakfast. The lady on duty at breakfast time was very sociable, nothing was too much trouble. If there was a downside, this like many hotels, the carpeting is looking a little tired.

Got free upgrade on room, as our room was recently refurbished and wasn’t finished. Staff couldn’t do enough for you, shout out fro Zoe on the bar and Sally at breakfast, who went over and beyond and couldn’t have made us more welcome. Great selection at breakfast, never ate until dinner, it was so filling. Definitely return.

The location of this hotel is lovely but our stay wasn’t. We booked a superior double for two nights as my other half was working in the area the following morning. Neither of us slept as the bed was like a plank of wood and I woke up with horrendous back pain. We couldn’t check out early as my other half was working so had to wait until 12.30 to check out. We informed the staff why we were checking out early and were offered a different room which we declined as we had had enough by this point. We were then charged full price for the second night as we were late checking out. We weren’t offered s reduced rate and we weren’t even given an apology. When I informed staff that the air conditioning unit rattled I was made to feel like I was making it up as the staff member asked her colleague: ‘Do you know anything about an air conditioning unit in room…?’ A thoroughly unpleasant stay all round.

Health and safety hazard. Very dirty with thick dust on top of velvet headboard…Urgh. Stayed for two nights. Both curtains hanging down on one side. Started to position curtain around the window to stop the light coming in and pricked my thumb harshly on one of the several large heavy duty staples sticking through the curtain fabric presumably where the pleat should have been. In the morning I noticed a small tear in my pillowcase. When I turned the pillow over there was a rip in fabric almost the whole width of the dirty pillow. I had a quiet word with the morning receptionist on our way out for the day who said she would inform management (I did not want to embarrass her in front of other guests)…although this was the same lady on reception when we arrived the previous day and who I took to be the owner/manager! On our return, whilst the bed had been made up and the pillowcase changed, the staples were still sticking through the fabric which is when I noticed the heavy dust on top of the headboard. On the second night the room was very noisy as if a fan was running all night (yes, I did turn the bathroom light off) and for the second night I hardly got any sleep! Very, very disappointed that firstly this room (41) was in such a poor state for the amount of money paid per night and secondly that my concerns seemed to have been almost totally disregarded. When checking out of the hotel, despite a lady in the office behind reception, nobody came to the front so I just left the key on the desk. I have taken numerous photos which show the disgusting state of the room in general if management care to see. This is a 3 star hotel which I am afraid would be hard pushed in reality to hold onto a 1 star and I hope the AA review their star system in the future before the whole system becomes meaningless!
