Great meal, especially as we was a large group. Very attentive staff and a great range of drinks available. Nice Xmas decorations too :-)

We’ve just come back from a fantastic meal for 42 people at the orepool! The staff went above and beyond for my autistic fussy child. The meal was delicious, hot and plenty of it. Service brilliant. Definitely worth a visit. Thank you all.

Stopped here for lunch having remembered visiting previously but quite a few years ago. Food was great and reasonably priced. Would definitely come back again. The last meal I ate out was a pie, in a different place, and having been disappointed by a bowl of stew with a puff pastry lid I thought I would try the pie at the Orepool. The pie was amazing! Shortcrust pastry base filled with a generous portion of meat and topped with a puff pastry lid, really tasty proper pie. Served with a thick rich gravy, chunky chips, and veg.Wife had a ploughman's which looked delicious and so generous that she took a filled half baguette with her to eat later.Finished mine off with a nice cheesecake and a satisfied belly.

Nice meal, good service. Not overly noisy, so you could have a good conversation.

Great place, great food, friendly atmosphere went here again 4 years later wow it's food is bad, we had roast beef dinner wow cold, raw veg I know it's the going thing modern thing but hiding it with gravy all I could eat was one new potatoe and the beef I was so hungry but hate or stand cold, raw veg

Really good food, I had the ham ploughmans and it was delicious. The cheese cake was a highlight too and I particularly liked the dollop on the side of proper double cream as opposed to the usual squirty cream.

I have mixed thoughts about the Orepool - some good some not so good. To start with the positive all four of us thought the food was excellent and based on that alone I would go again. Unfortunately, taking the experience as a whole I would not return. No clear indication on how to check in so we eventually went to the bar and waited and waited. Service was slow but we were finally pointed in the direction of our table. We were in an alcove with a large family birthday party with several children. The children were delightful and chatty but the party was noisy and as we were obviously four friends out for an evening not the best place to sit us. We asked to be moved which they did but a bit of thought beforehand would have been helpful and avoid the situation. Waitress staff were friendly and efficient so no complaints there. Overall impression the place looked tired and good do with a revamp.
