What a smashing pub. Serving well kept real ale with a smile. A really friendly atmosphere throughout.

The best worst pub in the area.

We had a family meal here with a large group and they were absolutely brilliant! The team were so helpful, the service was fast and the food was delicious. They were great with the kids too, bringing their meals out first. Thanks team.

Sunday lunch was absolutely brilliant. Large Yorkshire pudding filled with vegetables and roast beef. Fresh vegetables, mouthwatering beef and gravy like mum used to make. Excellent rhubarb crumble and custard for dessert.

Great pub with a good selection of beers and other drinks. Recently added Wiper & True 'Clear Head' on tap for anyone wanting a good quality low alcohol pint.

I organised a last minute 30th lunch last Saturday. I called on the Thursday and appreciated it was going to be a long shot to fit 17 people in - but the old spot pulled out all the stops - especially given it was the weekend before Christmas! The pub atmosphere & ambience was fantastic and our time here was a definite highlight to our trip. Best pub in the area!!Dietary restrictions: We’re exceptional at dietary restrictions and catered for vegan, celiac, vegetarian & fussy eaters.

It's the best pub I've ever been to. The staff and people make this place so friendly and cosy. I highly recommend the pie nights?

Great place. However only giving it 3 stars as for some reason they don't do Sunday dinners anymore, even though their website states they do.

Came for a family lunch (10 of us & 2 dogs) unfortunately a bit chilly for those at the end by the door to the beer garden, but we understand its a small pub. Lovely tasty food, but sadly lacking in portion size. The mediterranean bowl (2 of us avoiding gluten) was more like a starter and at £13 not value for money, similar with the pork steak. This was comparing them to the plate fulls that were had with the burgers and fish and chips for £1 & £2 more. The extra chips for £3.50 were a sad small portion too. We did mention it to staff and were brought some extra steamed veg, but it didn't really make up for lack of spicy vegetables in the bowl. Such a shame, as it tasted good. We get together several times a year for lunch and are always looking for good places and this is a bonus as being a short walk away from my fathers house. We may give it a go again and stick to fish and burgers next time, but slightly bigger portions wouldn't go amiss.
