Absolutely fantastic pub, great local ales (hop union formerly Great western brewery), good pub food, friendly locals and plenty of good dogs about too! Situated in the perfect position to be the start/middle/end of many a stunning south Gloucestershire walk!

Dropped in for lunch, easy to park, not far from Yate, warm welcome, quick service, good food, very reasonable. Far better than trying to find somewhere to eat in Yate. Recommended.

First time visiting this traditional lovely pub for Sunday lunch with friends. Made to feel extremely welcome by all the staff. We had 3 roast dinners and a nut roast. The food was excellent, large portions of top quality fresh food. I would recommend this pub and will definitely be returning.

Recently had a roast on a Sunday and had a 3 course Meal… all 3 courses were spot on! Apple toffee crumble was delicious. Wednesday night - pie night was 10/10 stunning food just can’t fault it, so tasty and amazing value. Even the carrots were epic. Thankyou ? will be back soon for another pie.

We had dinner last night and was involved with the charity pub quiz night. The mushroom stroganoff which was a special was absolutely incredible and my partner loved the burger and the added additions to it such as the red slaw.Portion sizes were very big.

Nothing wrong with the food but the service was appalling. Ate our main course, waited for someone to come and take dessert order, no one came. Decided to skip dessert and just have coffee. Went to bar to order. Young man wasn't sure if coffee machine was still on.( 9:10 ) Decided it was. After waiting 20 mins drinks finally came. Drinks were not very warm and I was told the machine wouldn't do my latte. They appear to be more interested in the people in the bar than customers eating. Will certainly not be going back.

Had the faggots, they were okay but a bit too seasoned. Mash was average, veg was good. Better than average pub grub but nothing to shout about. Nice staff though, friendly and attentive.
