Booked for Sunday lunch with my wife daughter and son who is at Gloucester Uni. My wife and I had the carvery which was I am sorry to say was poor, probably the worst I have ever had. Small portion made up from frozen roast potatoes (similar to Aunt Bessie’s), vegetables that tasted if they had been microwaved. The meat was okay. Not good value for money. The two other meals were very good, so therefore I would suggest give the carvery a miss.

This is a real pub that serves good, honest food. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate, the burgers, the mixed grill, Surf and Turf ( 3 prawns was slightly disappointing), and the child's nuggets. All the meals were great and we were really impressed! The desserts were great too, and it is certain that we will return.

My wife's chicken, avocado and bacon salad was very good for the money. My sea bass was a nice meal, but! There was not much on the plate. a little more potato would have been nice. Also the three stalks of asparagus look lost and forlorn in their solitude. On the question of what constitutes a portion of asparagus the jury is out on whether it is 5 or 6 spears is correct. It most certainly more than 3!

Had a lovely birthday meal here and had a table of 17! Food and service was brilliant. Shout out to Ella for getting us in last minute and making sure we had a table ready. Will definitely be back.

Ella saved our day by fitting our birthday party in at the last minute, all the meals were brought out together and we had no complaints. Meals were a great quality and great price. Will definitely be back . Also, just to add, they do a blue light discount ?

As we are local we fancied popping in for an evening meal and we had a great evening. Food was nice and came promptly and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice enough. Beautifully organised. Old fashioned feel.\\n\\nWe visited for lunch on a week day in term time so there were plenty of spare tables. The clientele was almost entirely elderly which I suspect is the target market.\\n\\nHence the general decor looked like a 1970’s living room and there were no vegetarian items on the menu.\\n\\nFood was OK: portion sizes were good enough for the price and arrived hot (just). Unfortunately, the onion rings were undercooked and the chicken, rubbery mushroom and tomato were slightly all overcooked.\\n\\nHowever, the chips and fish were both excellent. So, all in all, variable quality.\\n\\nDrinks were priced reasonably. The Guinness was from a can as the pub was trialling the alcohol free version but the glass was chilled, as it should be.\\n\\nService and staff were speedy and efficient. Very well laid out interior with clear signage. Definitely one of the cleanest, neatest and tidiest pubs in which I’ve ever eaten.\\n\\nPlenty of room between the inside tables allowed for a more relaxed eating experience.\\n\\nThe outside seating is next to the main road and the ‘view’ is of the local housing but it was all clean and, again, well spaced.\\n\\nThe car park is small and cramped and there’s limited parking in the local (suburban) area nearby. Either visit off peak / early or be prepared for few minutes walk from car to pub.\\n\\nI would visit again but go for the one of the fish options next time.

Meet regularly however on this occasion the soup was cold for two of us and had to be reheated. The teabags could a stronger teabag like Yorkshire be used would make a better pot of tea.\\nWe'll be back though

On arrival I was greeted by friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for me . Food was fantastic and service was spot on . Me and my group of friends had an amazing experience at this pub , even more so my phone was running low on battery and a member of the bar staff “Brett” was kind enough too lend me his own charger after over hearing my phone was about too die . Will definitely be returning too this establishment 10/10 highly recommend
