Jo made us feel at home immediately. We had everything we needed for an extremely comfortable night’s sleep. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and the linen fresh. Continental breakfast was excellent. Would definitely return.

The yard has one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. The host was very friendly and helpful with getting around the area. I would highly recommend this location to anyone visiting Stanton.

Wonderful stay in the charming garden room. Enchanting village, amazing garden, lovely dogs, and helpful, friendly hosts (who offered many good suggestions of things to do) made our time in Stanton delightful.

Shephers hut Looks very pretty for socials but shower door didn't shut. Tiny shower and toilet. Small twin beds no room to put bedside table so drink has to go on floor. Dog and cat roam into your room.

The Old Post House to me did not seem as a BNB. First hostess was not happy to see us which was unique to all the other we met along the way.Second, we were not served breakfast, we were told there were some food in the laundry room refrigerator. The food was not much, not even small continent breakfast. Not suitable for anyone out to take on a difficult walk in the Cotswold’s. Because the small breakfast I went into the kitchen and was told your food was in the laundry room.Thirdly one room nicely appointed, except for very hard beds. However the second room was not suitable for two people. It was in a unleveled wagon that did not offer room to open both sets of luggage and had dangerous shower.Lastly, when we were about to leave we asked the hostess to call us a cab and was told she did not have time.

We loved our visit at this beautiful post house dating from the 1600s. Jo, the owner, has kept it beautifully and it feels like stepping back into time. Our room upstairs was clean and had beautiful views, and we just really enjoyed being here. The gardens were fabulous.

Family had hired The Stanton Guild House for weekend family party. Overspill hired garden room and shepherds hut at Old Post Office & B&B rooms in village. We arrived very late on Friday evening so went straight to bed. Garden room was a bit dark and quirky with comfortable beds.Breakfast items available as help yourself. We were told that there would be pastries such as croissants etc none was provided. Bread for toast was opened & stale. We had not opened the bread ourselves. One of party had advised dairy allergy. Dairy alternative milk and yogurts were provided but no butter so ate a few bits of dry, stale toast but ended up discarding it. Jar of jam, used with potential dairy contaminants, so had to skip breakfast on both days.Private family party finished at 4pm on Sunday. No checking out instructions on website, booking or email confirmations, nor advised by owner. So we packed majority of our belongings and tidied up and left our things at accommodation as we had left our car at the guildhouse.Imagine our surprise / horror when Sunday early afternoon the owner drove to our private party, interrupting it, and very rudely demanded we removed our bags immediately. No pleasantries, no manners. We naturally checked out straight away, as we would have organised doing so earlier had the checking out time been communicated, but left a sour taste to our stay at The Old Post Office.Initial review was left by a party member on Trip Advisor, the owner had responded with lies and exaggerations including contents of an email sent by another member of our party.False promises and ineffective communication did not ruin our weekend by any means, however we have no plans to return or to recommend to anyone else. Happy to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, maybe we caught the owner on a bad day, however it is no excuse to treat guests with such hostility.

Family had hired The Stanton Guild House for weekend family party. Overspill hired garden room and shepherds hut at Old Post Office & B&B rooms in village. Pleasant intro from owner on arrival, albeit brief as owner rushing to leave for dinner! Lovely village, nice quiet setting. Garden room was a bit dark and quirky, Shepherd’s hut delightful. Breakfast items available as help yourself. Incomplete against advised contents, pastries etc. Bread for toast was opened & stale. One of party had advised dairy allergy. No dairy alternative to butter. Jar of jam, used with potential contaminants, so had to skip breakfast on both days. Private family party finished at 4pm on Sunday. No checking out instructions on website, booking or email confirmations, nor passed on by owner. So we packed our bags and left them at accommodation. Imagine our surprise / horror when owner drove to our private party, interrupting it, and demanded we removed our bags immediately. No pleasantries, no manners. Rude. We naturally checked out straight away, as we would have done earlier had the checking out time been communicated, but left a sour taste to our stay at The Old Post Office. Never in all our travels have we experienced such from a host!

My friend and I booked a garden room and the shepherds hut which were adjacent from the main house and enjoyed a blissful overnight (midweek) stay in this beautiful and peaceful setting. We felt that every care had been taken with the accommodation. Milk in the fridge of the hut, fresh coffee, hairdryer, extra blankets, and heating if needed. Very clean. Having eaten a lovely, hearty meal the night before at The Mount, the (ample) continental breakfast arrangements suited us perfectly and we could collect it when we were ready. The gardens were beautiful with numerous seating areas allowing for other guests. The hosts were discreet but most welcoming. We had a very relaxing time and would visit again.

Absolutely A Wonderful Stay. The home and grounds were beautiful. The bedroom was tastefully decorated, immaculate, super clean and the bed...oh so comfortable. The host/owner was so nice.. thank you for having us.

i can honestly say this is the worst b&b i have ever stayed in. we felt very unwelcome. small, cramped room, no guest lounge, no breakfast room. breakfast was cereal, toast (make it yourself), fruit, yoghurt, which you prepared yourself and carried back to your room. walkers need protein, not carbs for breakfast. i would not recommend this place.
