My sister went to this pub and came home in tears. The owner came up to her and said “enough is enough, can you ask your children to stop making noise”. She asked for the bill and then left. She has a set of 4 year old triplets - not sure if anyone has tried asking toddlers to stop making noise before but doesn’t always go to plan. If you plan on talking loudly or you have children under 12 don’t attempt to go to this establishment. Service from the rest of the team was nice though pitty about the owner though ruined what was a lovely Sunday.

Probably the best pub food in the world! The Sunday roast is incredible. Have never had a poor meal here.

Great food but special note to the lovely service. Thanks for accommodating us all in your large room.

Lovely dog friendly pub with seating inside and out. The outside garden does get flooded during the winter but it's warm and cosy insideStaff are extremely helpful and friendly.Food is lovely, well priced and good size portions.

Good Sunday lunch. Plenty of roast beef and vegetables. Service friendly and efficient though seating a bit cramped. Good parking and beer garden by the river to use in better weather.

Booked for a festive meal with a friend. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the entire evening. The food was delicious. The portions were large. The desert was amazing. The service was spot on. The price was perfect. The atmosphere was so relaxed and comfortable. I think a return trip is on the cards once we get Christmas out of the way. Thank you for a great memory.

Perfect in every way. I chose TheTrout for my Dad’s Birthday lunch. We loved the cosy atmosphere, roaring fire and festive decorations. We each had something different from the Menu ….fabulous food, large portions, piping hot and beautifully cooked. Friendly staff. Dad is 91 today and he loved every moment. Thank you. Would not hesitate to recommend to everyone we know.

8 of us had our lunch here yesterday, and we all agreed that this place is going to take some beating!!! Huge portions, all fabulously prepared, and quite possibly the best roast potatoes I've ever had! Completely faultless in every way. £18.00 for a meal of that calibre is an absolute bargain.Wonderful building, full of character, really efficient and friendly staff, and amazing food. You really need to treat yourself and eat here, you will not be disappointed. A solid 10/10.

The food here was out of this world! I had the beef stew with dumplings and they were the lightest dumplings I've ever tasted. My husband had curry and he couldn't stop raving over it. There was plenty of it. The atmosphere and service was very good too. It's a pity we live so far away as I reckon it would your local.
