We quite literally stumbled across this place, as the pub up road said we could eat this in the pub. What a place it was, staff were super friendly and food was fresh not soggy. A really good crisp fish and chips. We didn't have a straight forward order with everyone ordering different items some with salt and vinegar some not but they absolutely nailed it.If I were to make a suggestion, make your own tartar sauce because your peas and curry sauce were great.Highly recommend

Love this place! I travel from Chicago/Las Vegas to the Forest of Dean area nearly every year and always look forward to getting fish and chips here. You really can't get fish and chips this good where I'm from. We ordered enough food for 3 people and it was a good price! Also, thank you so much to the staff for taking care of Mr. Haddock every week! Appreciate it!!!

I went here 1 week ago to the day and though was a sign on the counter saying cash only they accepted a card payment as they did with another customer who placed a large order . All well and good .Today a big Drama about using cash though eventually let me pay by card .I asked what the problem was to be told he'd have to put the prices up .I can assure people that the cost of using card payment options to such a business is minimal. I believe the real reason is more about the tax man and declarations .On top of his (I presume the owner) manner of ORDERING his young female staff around is deplorable.I personally will never set foot in the place again as long as said person has anything to do with it .Tram stop coleford have no such issues and I'll use them from now on .To add . Today Saturday I looked at His Google listing and it does say they take card payments . But cry when they do .

Usually fantastic chips, but twice in the last couple of months i have had the last scrapings of the chips and they were dry and inedible. Such a shame and had to throw them away. I think you should really do a new batch when you are getting close to the back. I know it is a little wasteful but they were really rubbish. I normally recommend your chippy to everybody but if it happens again I will give up.

Food was lovely. We managed to forget a can we'd paid for but that was partly down to us being in a hurry! Very friendly staff, who were willing to very slightly waive their "no dogs" rule to allow our dog to sit just inside the door (it was bucketing down and she was nowhere near the food). Overall, decent village chippy.

Although we had to wait for twenty minutes, the freshly cooked fish was well worth it. The chips were just how we like them. All good ?

Lovely place, have been a few times prior and honestly have never had a bad experience. Lovely staff, very pleasant.I've never had an issue with the food, above average portion sizes and quite low prices for the area..always done quickly and have enver had any order mix ups or mistakes, brilliant.

Its your standard chip shop. Prices are quiet standard compared to other shops. Could do with a bigger selection of drinks

Fabulous Fish and Chips. 2 sizes so if you're feeling hungry you can go large. Lovely crisp batter freshly cooked.
