We had a family pre-Christmas lunch at the Horse and Groom, and it was perfect. The food was tasty and copious and were served by Pip with much attention and good cheer. Looking forward to our next visit.

This was the worse Christmas lunch we have ever had in the Cotswolds. Vegetables over cooked and a complete lack of seasoning. Potatoes soggy and not crispy. Bland food and tasteless gravy. Ordered their special champagne and just dumped on the table for us to open. Value for money zero. Could not wait to get out of there and head back to our cosy cottage.

Had a delightful Christmas lunch here as part of a large party of 11! The food was exquisite and the drinks were refreshing. Lovely cocktails. The staff were amazing too! Pip, our waiter, was the star for us! He made us laugh and was very attentive to us. Would definitely recommend

7 family members arrived for our Christmas get together. We were greeted warmly on arrival. Everyone was so friendly. Our meals were superb and the service we received from Pip the assistant manager was top class. My husband and I had booked a room to stay over which was lovely and we had a wonderful evening in the bar with such a good atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Stopped in for lunch after quite a long walk to bourton on the hill. The food was great - I'd especially recommend the cauliflower rarebit - and the atmosphere was very cosy, but what really made the experience special was the service. We were greeted and seated by the assistant manager Pip, who was super welcoming. His service throughout our lunch was prompt and friendly. We didn't want to leave, so we had to stay for an extra pint and a scoop of ice cream ? thanks, pip and team! We would be delighted to return if we're in the area again.

Stayed over for one night while visiting family in the area. Stayed in room 2 which was lovely and spacious with a comfy bed and ensuite. The dog was catered for with dog bed, bowls and treats in the room ready. We had an evening meal and breakfast there, both of which were delicious with generous portions and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and attentive and the Assistant Manager, Pip made us feel very welcome. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for the night at the B&B after a weekend away to visit Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold. Lovely pub with great food. We ate in the evening and had a delicious steak and also had a wonderful breakfast in the morning. The room was clean and warm and inviting. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Had such a nice experience and will hopefully return soon.

Lovely cosy pub for a family get together. Staff were very friendly and accommodating despite the fact we had a toddler with us and we had to call to say we would be a bit late. The food was delicious with an interesting menu filled with comfort food. Drinks were good too. Would highly recommend after our experience today, shame we don’t live locally!

Found by accident passing through. Stopped for lunch, luckily even though very busy they could fit us in. Service excellent and lovely decor and ambiance. But wow the food was fabulous, enjoyed every mouthful till the last. Fantastic flavours and piping hot and brilliant value for money.

Best sandwiches I have ever had. Gorgeous bread and excellent fillings. Good red wine. Real fire, great service.

A lot of the choices from the menu weren’t available. From a limited choice we had two ploughman’s and one chicken, ham and mushroom pie. The pie was very hard and dry. It had been drowned in gravy, presumably in an attempt to soften the crust, but this was unsuccessful. The waiter sought feedback on our meals but didn’t act on it. On paying, again I was asked how our meal was, and again feedback was given. We ate here regularly before lockdown and the food was always delicious. I felt embarrassed to have “treated” my friends to a meal here.

We went for a meal as we were staying fairly close by. The service and food were excellent. A minor criticism was seeing the pub on arrival it was getting dark and it wasn't lit up and seemed near a bend. A light over the name of pub would help. Again leaving the pub there were no lights in the car park making it difficult leaving the door of the pub as it is or seemed to be very close to the road. Perhaps consider some low lighting somehow. But knowing that now we would be prepared and would definitely visit again when in the area.Food & drinks: The food was very good, I had a steak and mushroom pie and the best I have had for some time. My friends also enjoyed their meals. Thank you.

Had birthday lunch for a friend at the Horse and Groom. Sunday roast was delicious! Just the right size and full of yummy stuff. Desserts were also lovely. Great service from the team there. Lovely pub in lovely location. Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay there, but highly recommend the pub food and ambience!Nearby activities: Gorgeous walks in countryside and lovely little towns and villages to visit nearby

Our first visit to this lovely pub. We were pleasantly surprised by the cosy, yet spacious interior. We were made to feel welcome, and whilst I would say they appeared slightly short on front of house staff, the staff who did serve us were friendly and efficient, albeit seemingly in a bit of a rush to get round everyone. The menu choice is great and something for everyone. The food came out efficiently and was delicious. Overall, a lovely evening meal. We hope to visit again soon!
