Stable room stayBeautiful room and great breakfast. Front of house staff were great.Only improvements:- shower head desperately needed descaling- some white towels were stained. I appreciate a desire to reduce waste but they look messy. I'd change colours...- extractor fan is on the light switch and loud. So anyone using the bathroom at night will wake other occupants. Will certainly be back.

Booked here for Saturday evening dinner while staying in the area. I had visited the White Hart Royal Hotel before so was hoping my friends would like it. It was great, staff friendly and attentive. Food was excellent (I had the hake fillet followed by raspberry meringue dessert). Couldn't fault it. It was very busy in the restaurant but the staff managed it perfectly. Would highly recommend.

I stayed here for 3 nights. The welcome from James and Kate was very welcoming. Nothing to much trouble. Breakfast options very good, as is the quality. Housekeeping teams do an amazing job of the rooms. All staff very helpful and nice. It's a must recommend. Thanks again to James and

The staff was amazing except the head of house keeping. The room we stayed in was the Noir and it was very ascetically pleasing , the bath is amazing and the room was lovely. Although we had a bad backs after sleeping on the mattress ( new ones needed) the shower head really needs changing to a rain shower or something that can cope with the pressure of the water, as it was coming out of the sides . Also the extractor fan didn't work and when this was mentioned to head of housing keeping she seam pissed of and didn't care. They said they would send someone to look but didn't. The rest of house keeping was lovely. The restaurant dinner the fish was spectacular but the lamb was over cooked ( not pink at all) although this could be based on preference but lamb should be served pink middle at least.Breakfast - The full English was over cooked and you could tell it had been pre cooked and left out. The croissants was the same , we found a bakery to go to instead which was amazing. The eggs royal was lovely but eggs benedict ( you could still tell the bacon had been precooked and wasn't fresh)I would have preferred to wait and have fresh hot food than something that had been cooked at 6.30 and warmed up.Wi-Fi only really in the restaurant and bar sometimes you could get in the room but at 6am not during evening or late morning.Saying this if they could fix these few bits I think they are amazing , if the mattress was changed I would stay there again. The young lady on reception on arrival day was lovely and helped us with places to go and then checked in and asked how we got on which was lovely.( I'm sorry I don't remember your name )Rooms: The room we stayed in was the Noir and it was very ascetically pleasing , the bath is amazing and the room was lovely. We enjoyed our stay at the white hart. We loved the lord of the rings art - it almost felt like staying at a hobbit’s place. The staff was incredibly helpful. We wanted to specifically thank James - he was extremely helpful, always cheerful, professional and polite. He is a big part of us enjoying our stay that much. He also always seemed to be on the job - evening or morning. Thank you James!

First class food and service. Extremely pleasant staff. Only negatives are: hotel over-run by dogs - outnumbered people in the bar, let off smells, in all the bedrooms around us, often barking in the night.Hence 4* where otherwise I’d have put 5.Rooms: Good feature rooms.

Great location, no parking reservation as public parking outside hotel, stairs only at hotel good choice of menu, bathroom in superior bedroom needs a makeover, water lovely and hot and shower was easy to workout

Beautiful old coaching inn, with comfortable rooms, lovely public/eating areas, excellent food and capable, gracious service from reception to housekeeping. Liz at reception a great source of information about the area. Would return in a heartbeat.

My friend and I went for Sunday lunch. And what an incredible meal it was! I had a Pimms and then the pork roast with crackling, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and the best vegetables I’ve had in years. There was a mix of cauliflower with a sauce, broccoli, carrots and leeks. So so delicious! The portion was big so I had no space for one of the delicious looking desserts. Our server, James Brown, could not have been nicer or more helpful as we needed a taxi after the meal and he advised us which person to contact and she was great. I just wish I was staying longer in the area so I could have the Sunday roast every week!!

Can truly say this pub is amazing!!!! Dog friendly, amazing menu with the best tasting crab linguine (where you can actually taste the crab), top choice of beers & wine and the friendliest staff ever especially Bill. We dined one lunchtime & it was so good we went back the next day to dine again. Highly recommend & we will definitely visit again. Thank you so much :)

Went for dinner. Nice building and interior. Service was awful. Food took 45 minutes despite an empty restaurant. Huge menu but nothing of real substance. The Guinness is watered down. Waiter did not offer us more drinks so ended up having to order from the bar ourselves. Bar staff looked angered after we requested the Wi-Fi password

We were here for two nights. To say it's excellent is not really enough. The people, the location, the food, and the room were simply fantastic! The chef was happy to accommodate my need for the gfluten free food. It's a 5 minute walk from the train. This is honestly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

Disappointing experience at this hotel. Was met with indifference, bordering on hostility, at check-in from the night clerk. The historic hotel needs some serious work on making the interiors more welcoming - the carpets are old and tired, the corridors aren't well signed, and in general it just doesn't feel like a place that is well cared for. The main highlight here was the breakfast - where the service and food were excellent. The Cotswolds are a beautiful area but I would likely choose somewhere else to stay on my next trip to the area.

We found the staff at this hotel to be extremely customer focused and friendly. In particular, James, Dennis and Liz made us very welcome and we’re helpful at every opportunity. For example, we were cycling in the area for about a week before heading to London for the remainder of our trip. Upon arriving in London, we realized we had accidentally left some of our valuable cycling gear at the White Hart Hotel. A day later we were in contact with Liz who assured us that she had all of our equipment that we had left behind. Moreover, she arranged to package it up and have it sent promptly to our hotel in London. Quite simply, Liz exceeded our expectations in every respect. Thank you Liz from the two forgetful cyclists from Canada. You really did us a huge favour!

Our first visit to the White Hart Royal and it was excellent. We will definitely be back for a longer stay in the future. All the staff were extremely helpful and the food choice was very good. A very relaxing place.
