I don’t usually leave reviews, I read them. And reading them, I was shocked at the lack of accuracy. The Bowl has been an occasional stop for me and my partner since 2021, and it’s come on leaps and bounds. Our latest visit was epic. Food, timely, filling and up there with any gastropub in SW England! The room, packed a punch for the size and was immaculate. Breakfast… I’ve barely eaten since. And the team, manager and smiley chef made it all complete.I guess you could say we were Bowled over. See you soon, and thank you so much.H&R x

Great location in Lower Almondsbury. Friendly staff and good food but sometimes a long wait for it to arrive!Walkability: Lots of easy walks from The Bowl - to the garden centre, through the apple orchard , several tracks and fields nearby to walk along.

Always a warm welcome and nice atmosphere here at The Bowl.Service can be a bit slow, but then it is good to see the place busy.

Great lunch at the Bowl. Good food, atmosphere and service. Quiet, village location yet handy for M4/M5

One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time, great ale and cider on tap and the rooms are of a high quality too. Plenty of parking - they have installed 4 electric super chargers but are not operational yet (as of early March 2024). Prices were very reasonable in the restaurant. I would recommend signing up to their loyalty scheme as you get many offers. Will definitely look into other Butcombe brewery inns based on our 5* experience here.

Lovely pub with good service, but poor vegetarian food. The squash carpaccio was very bland. The Jerusalem artichoke soup just tasted like cream, and the saag aloo also had a strange creamy sauce with very little spices detectable. The pappardelle was actually rigatoni, although it did come with a generous amount of tasty mushrooms. The best thing we had were the little Biscoff doughnuts, which were sensational. Given it three stars as our meat-eating companions thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Wouldn’t go again for the vegetarian food.

5 of us came here for lunch yesterday. We all had different main courses and none were a disappointment. The service was excellent. Plus, as it was my birthday and I’m a loyalty card member, we had a selection of drinks for 4 of the party. And as my birthday fell on a Wednesday we had 25% of the meal. An excellent treat.Food & drinks: The food was well presented and tasty. There were some unusual dishes. The dessert of brownie made with good quality chocolate and illy coffee served with black cherry sorbet and black cherries was simply delicious. The tartness of the cherries cutting into the sweetness of the brownie.

We stayed at The Bowl recently using the Sunday Sleepover deal and can honestly say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, as did our friends. This is such a good deal and we look forward to going there again soon. This is a really lovely old Inn in the small village of Almondsbury, near Bristol. Highly recommend.Rooms: Our Signature double was one of the best we have ever stayed in at an Inn. It was so delightfully furnished and decorated. The king size bed was so comfortable and the shower was excellent. Couldn't fault the room at all.Food & drinks: We had lunch, dinner and breakfast and can't fault any of the meals. Such good quality food and the service was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and all staff were so friendly. The Butcombe beers were excellent too as was the wine.

Sadly we we were disappointed after this lunch visit. We felt the food wasn’t up to previous standards and at higher prices (we understand price rises are unavoidable at the moment). Very disappointing vegetarian risotto (really tasteless and didn’t taste of anything) and pie was mediocre. Felt better after puds which were ok.

Wow! I've experienced some incredible hospitality across Butcombe pubs, but this one really blew my socks off!I went to try their new Brunch Menu, having absolutely devoured their Burns Night offering.I'll break it down so I don't get overexcited...Eggs-Poached perfectlyHollandaise - a hint of lemon, perfectMushrooms - nutty, woody, lovelyService - Young manager I believe called Charles was attentive and clearly knew what he was about.Coffee-piping hot and frothy. If you haven't checked it out, you're either a moron or gimp.19/10 will be returning, preferably not driving next time.
