This was our first vist to the area and therefore our first time at the chip shed. The food was delicious. I had the traditional fish and my partner had the chicken pie. Delicious ?? Then we were told the chips are REFILLABLE!!! TINA served us and was brilliant! Very friendly, welcoming and loved the ghost stories ? we had a great time. Thank you

Tina served us and was friendly, polite, and helpful. Filled our water bottles, and chatted making us welcome. Excellent food, and fabulous service. A takeaway boxes was given to us, as we couldn't finish our meal. Tina was very considerate, we will return.

Just done our weekly 30 mile round trip to our favourite chip shop, and as always great fish and chips served by friendly polite staff. We have been going there now for 4 years and always made welcome by everyone. The jolly chef makes me smile as soon as we walk in and always has time to speak ask how we are. Just eaten the best fish and chips I’ve had in the UK. We each had a “Catch of the day”, having Hake, Haddock and Plaice between us. So very good. Do visit and be enthralled.

The amount we paid for a 2 person meal is not worth it . The fish and chips are cold, greasy. The asparagus tempura is much more greasy. Asparagus is suppose to be a healthy food, however the batter was very greasy and comes with garlic butter sauce. Not enough batter since you can see the fish and asparagus. The owner should look into how they prepare their food.

Tried the on-line ordering, however everytime bar one, the food was lukewarm by the time I got it home. I discovered the problem was with ordering where there was a delayed collection time. On those ocassions, I found out that the on-line food order was assembled, put in a bag then placed on top of the food warmer very soon after the order was received, even when collection was set down for 20 to 30 minutes later. This meant the food had been slowly cooling down for all of that time, plus the 15 minutes it takes me to get home. I raised this issue with them on a couple of ocassions but no improvement.

Awful chips! We go without fail every year when we have our mini break sometimes 3 or 4 times. Summertime break, the chips were great. We came back at the end of December, and it's a whole new story. I went to collect and upon opening them at our hotel, the chips had blackish marks, were dry and stale. I was convinced that they were a day old. I have to say Lydia, the manager, was great and did reimburse me when I called to complain. Talking to the locals it seems that the chips have gone down hill drastically of late. The irony what with the name being 'Chip Shed'. The people in charge of this place need to read the comments and take heed. You have lost many loyal customers; me being one of them along with many locals from what I have heard.

Horrible quality food. Seriously the WORST chips ive ever had, very dry and rock hard. As if they were from the day before and had been left out all night, Batter was very pale and soggy and halloumi was really undercooked and slimey. Flavour of everything was just of oil and nothing else. Really expensive as well for a fish and chip shop. AVOID

Brillant staff Clean place nicely decorated. My husband had cod and chips . Very good.I had 2 starters calamari and scampi with dips both very good and tasty. Good value. Would highly recommend
A return here,Good quality Fish,lots of choice,seating,table service in an airy area,friendly staff,good portions,we like chips as well ,these are good,medium sized portions of chips,served with Curry sauce,or MUSHY PAES, The staff thanked us for comeing again,very attentive.

Went in here for a takeaway the other night and the chef was stood behind the counter at the back eating scampi whilst he was working which was unprofessional for an award winning chip shop. The lady who served us was very moody and acted like she really didn’t wanna be there, which was a bit of putting. Food was ok though on the other hand

Superb building, the old Bank. Smart, modern design and decor inside. Staff friendly and professional. Deliciously cooked food, sausage & chips, Scampi and chips. Bonus: free basket of chips when finished your first chips!

We were seated promptly in a lovely sunny area inside and discovered many interesting starters on the menu. We chose a fish cake and calamari although there were many other things we could have selected. Service was prompt and both our meals were excellent with a lovely fresh salad. The chips were good too.
