Fantastic pub in the middle of Stow with a great selection of drinks, gorgeous food (the Sunday roast is a must!) and the frendliest most welcoming staff :) live music and an all round great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit when you are in the area.

I booked a table for 5 mates for lunch and beers to watch the six nations on Saturday afternoon. Was very impressed by the quality of service- blonde bar lady told us that they had just run out of burgers but if we wanted burgers she would pop out to local butchers to get more (she did)- chef then came out to our table to apologise for the delay and said he’d give us some plates of chips for free while we waited (there wasn’t a delay and this was really unnecessary)- place was packed but a member of bar staff kept coming over to serve us more drinksWhole team of staff went way out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our afternoon. Food was delicious and service was exceptional.

We had such a wonderful experience here- so much that we returned 3 times during our stay in Stow! The Sunday roast was excellent, the bar staff are phenomenal (thanks Liam!!?), and the owners made us feel so welcome. Very dog friendly and we definitely recommend popping by on Wednesday evening for the open mic night. A true local vibe that’s homely and not pretentious. Can’t wait to return?

We visited The Talbot this afternoon. The server was very friendly upon entry but had no other staff around to support him during such a busy lunchtime rush. However, he was very enthusiastic throughout.We ordered our food once we had sat down. Unfortunately, the wait for the main course went on for well over an hour and for the wait (and the price), we thought it would be a larger portion of food than we received. We weren’t entirely sure why the food took so long to come out as the dishes weren’t necessarily complicated (sausage sandwich & bubble and squeak with a fried egg.)Unfortunately, we were not offered any drinks whilst we waited, we would have appreciated this.On the positive side, the food was delicious.However, due to the extensive wait and the price for what we received, we will not be returning.

The perfect Christmas Eve ! This made our weekend in Stow, we love live music, the owner is an amazing singer and he and his wife were lovely. The staff are so great and didn’t look like they stopped for a minute!. We will be back for sure, absolutely loved it . Thank you!!

This is a cute restaurant/pub right in the center of town. The service was okay, but to be fair, there was just one person working hard! The beer was very tasty and the food decent (just not outstanding). The atmosphere was charming.

We were enjoying a day in Stow-on-the-Wold and wanted some lunch. We were turned away from about half a dozen pubs and restaurants because they were too busy and then tried The Talbot. Although it was also busy, Jay found us some space to have a drink and look at the menu while we waited for a table to become available. He brought us drinks and looked after us notwithstanding the fact that he seemed to be looking after the whole pub by himself - clearing tables, serving food, taking orders and ALL with a smile on his face. The food was home cooked, delicious and reasonably priced. We were made to feel extremely welcome and had a lovely lunch on a wet December day. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Arrived for lunch with our three dogs in tow. Very warm greeting, great atmosphere and a lovely lunch. We ordered the chicken burger and ham, eggs and chips. Superb service from Beth who looked after us and supplied some sausages for our very grateful hounds. Well worth a visit.
