The best coffee shop in Stroud. Great coffee, always an interesting selection of beans, and loads of vegan pastries. This place has it all!

We're very lucky to have such a lovely coffee shop in Stroud. Highly recommended. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about coffee. The coffee they have available is top notch, and you can even buy bags to take home or give as gifts. They also have amazing cakes. Honestly, it's fantastic.

One of the, if not the best coffee shops in the whole of the Cotswolds and Gloucestershire. As you enter you have the sweetest welcome, you are then transported to a calming atmosphere where you are able to drink the tastiest coffee. If you need/want you can get the best advice on coffee, you can eat the most scrumptious food (try the apple fritters they are to die for), and a bonus is that you can also make the most amazing friends. If kindness, calmness, openness, and compassion could be made into a business you’d find all of this and more at RoughHands! When you’re next in Stroud, and if you haven’t been yet make RoughHands your first stop!

Definitely the best coffee in Stroud. Independently owned by Sam, who really knows his beans and loves all his regulars! The pastries are top drawer too with lots of vegan options. There's also now a massive outside area you can sit in when the weather's nice and enjoy an iced coffee with milk ice cubes...genius!

Been here many times, definitely the best coffee place around! Lovely lovely staff. They have delicious pastries from local businesses and some savoury bites. You should also try to go when they have evening events there, great atmosphere, and good times.

amazingly welcoming staff, delicious pastries, great coffee and high quality tea, and a monthly knitting circle - what more could you want!the toilet is always clean and kept in stock of free sanitary products, and the weekend no-laptop policy means that there’s always a table available.rough hands was the place that meant Stroud started to feel like home after a big move, and for that I’m very grateful!

Fantastic coffee - best in Stroud! Friendly and cool vibe in both staff and setting (which is hard to achieve in my opinion!). Adds caffeine-fuelled joy, style and humour to the wonderful array of independents in Stroud. Keep doing what you're doing!

Decent coffee shop, the coffee is very nice. It feels like a place loved by locals. Though, it’s quite loud.

Local and independent coffee house run by friendly people in Stroud. Sure it's not the only one in the area but the more the merrier if making coffee this good.Great coffee options and a special house coffee too. Served on a board with water a nice touch. The space itself could definitely do with some TLC as it still seems a little bare and cold but I'm sure it will improve with time. Right up there with best espresso in Stroud.

As we both have soft, supple, caressing hands, we didn’t quite know what to expect from rough hands. They had lots of pale pastries and a selection of coffee preparations, including a small tasting tray! In retrospect it would have been a fun thing to do but we’re boring and we want 8oz white coffees. There was plenty of space despite being midday on a weekend but if there’s more than two of you it might be tricky. Lots of paired tables along the right hand wall. Standard reasonable pricing for drinks and food (including toasted sandwiches). Great coffee overall. They also have magazines to read but they’re slightly behind the first table, so you can have them but at the risk of a social faux pas.

Great coffee, secluded atmosphere and great selection of vegan pastries. Dog friendly.
