We were part of a group of six staying at the pub for 2 nights over the New Year. We had nothing but praise for this gem of a pub. The pictures can't quite capture the essence of this place. Cosy accommodation, snug eating areas with log burners, fantastic food, a good pint and fabulous service - we couldn't have asked for more. We enjoyed a chilled couple of days and just drove into Malmesbury and Tetbury but would definitely return to enjoy some walking and exploring a little more of the Cotswolds. A big thank you to the whole team at the Cat and Custard Pot Inn.

I had a good experience over all. Drinks with friends and ordered a burger. The menu read ‘‘ 100% beef burger, streaky bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato in a toasted brioche bun with fries “.What I actually received was, “100% beef burger, (I assume, very dense and not as juicy as I’d hoped), back bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce that had died slightly from being placed under the hot burger instead of above, pickles and burger sauce, not in a toasted bun with fries”, (I always order without tomatoes so them missing was planned).I would’ve rated this a five star if the menu had accurately reflected what I received for £17.50, it tasted good and was well cooked.

We had a nice stay here. Staff were friendly and the food and beer was good. The room was comfortable and clean. The only very minor comment was that the bathroom could do with some decoration and silicon replacing. But it was clean and everything worked fine.We will stay again if in the area.Nearby activities: Tetbury is well worth a visit. Lovely town with some nice attention and shops.

The pub welcomes fox and hare hunts. Avoid at all costs unless you support organised wildlife crime gangs who rip apart animals for fun

Called in for a late lunch on a Saturday. The chalet area was serving food, not the pub, so pizza was available which was fine for us. It was all freshly made and delicious. Staff service was a tad slow but with only one chap on that was fine and we didn’t mind.

We came across this pub on the off chance after visiting the Beaufort Craft Fair. Our group consisted of 2 adult friends. Tetbury is a lovely country Town in Gloucester where King Charles III has his Country estate of Highgrove House. There is parking behind the Inn but we missed the sign and parked on the street. It was a Tuesday lunchtime so we weren’t expecting the pub to be busy, which it wasn’t. We were greeted at the door and shown to an empty table. The hostess was pleasant, courteous and very welcoming. The menu wasn’t large but it was varied and even catered for my friend who was gluten free! We had Soup of the day with fresh bread and a side of chips and Ham Croquettes (not gluten free). All was delicious and with 2 sodas was £30.50, note a 10% discretionary service charge was added which was a surprise. Facilities were good and would definitely visit again when in the area.

I booked a room for my partner's birthday as we were doing quite a lot of activities around that area. I was looking for a pub that serves dinner and drinks in the same building as the room, and cat & custard was just perfect!Room was little but had everything that we needed and was more than enough. Comfy bed and tasty coffee. Super clean and cozy. The food was amazing. I was very surprised by brulé. Never have I ever had such a tasty brulé (I don't like brulé). Breakfast was great too.The only thing was that the ladies didn't have enough knowledge about the menu and we waited to pay our bill for hours until we asked to pay. We were staying here, so it was okay but since we got the bill, none of the waitresses made an eye contact with us or asked would we like something else. The man that worked there was so friendly and chatted with us, giving us some info about the town and surroundings.Overall, if we are heading that way, we would definitely stay there again and highly recommend to others.Thank you !

Four hours walking around Westonbirt Arboretum I wanted to eat somewhere local. Great choice this lovely place as soon as you walk in I knew it. The staff are excellent, a warm greeting at the bar and then to our table. 1500hrs Sunday 22/10/23. Excellent choice of food, hungry enough to have three courses. The ham hock croquette, soup and cheese soufflé were Devine followed by four roast beef dinners. The beef was pink and generous with roasters and veg. Deserts apple crumble, Eaton mess and crème brûlée. The place was buzzing but we still got well looked after. The staff are exceptional and I hope they get rewarded properly.

It's great, but why can't they serve a pizza anywhere in the pub? Why do you need to go to the pizza area?Would have been nice to have a pizza in the front garden.

We 'fell' on The Cat & Custard Pot almost by accident, looking for a short break in the Cotswolds. This pub is so much more than it appears, a hidden gem of The Cotswolds! Lovely rooms, delicious - outstanding - food, and a brilliant team of friendly staff , including Lynn front of house supervisor, Robert, Head Chef, and June, Head Housekeeper. Not forgetting the lovely young bar staff who made us feel nothing was too much trouble. The room we stayed in was charming, spotless, and spacious. We loved every minute of our stay, and we'll be back soon!!

In need of lunch on a Tuesday before visiting Highgrove we found that it appeared most pubs in the area are closed for lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays. Then I came across the Italian Chalet at the Cat and Custard Pot which turned out to be a godsend. We had lasagna and pizzas and absolutely excellent they were too. Set us up for the rest of the day, the pub itself also looks very interesting and we shall be planning a stay there in the near future.
