I can’t review the actual food, as we never got any! Called in at 6pm on a Tuesday evening, and was immediately struck by the absence of any food cooking or on display, and no staff in attendance anywhere. I waited a good five minutes, as I could hear someone in the back area doing something. Still no sign of any staff, so I shouted out ‘hello’ quite loudly, several times. Still no acknowledgement, and, after another five minutes I gave up and left. The absence of any other potential customers spoke volumes also.

Used to be a good fish and chip shop but after my last visits I do not think I shall be returning. After ordering online, I went to collect to find out that what I had ordered and paid for was not available, no effort had been made to contact me once the order had been accepted to let me know and amend the order.

Absolutely disgusting!! After 12mnths of regular visits tonight was terrible. Peas had nit seen any heat- stone cold. Chips stone cold, fish warm. We went back in - pease cold with black bits in them, chips supposedly heated up were still cold, fish was hot but tasted of old fat and quite sickly. Hopefully this was a one off !!

Not impressed, I'd put no stars if I could, awful service, nothing hardly cooked just sausages which was so pale I wouldn't chance it, 6 ppl waiting for there orders before me, staff just chatting behind counter who seemed to have no idea, i left without ordering and I know how chip shops should run I worked there years ago. I stand by my last post as the couple who were running it were amazing.

Avoid at all cost unless you want poor customer service and poor quality food . Ordered and paid online for two large Haddock and chips, mushy peas & curry sauce at 1.40 pm on Saturday for collection at 17.25 the same day after work. Arrived to be told they had no large Haddock only Cod. Accepted Cod as no other available fish options. We were given "Regular" Cod and Chips which when asked why we were told by the assistant it was all they had coming in. We were not offered a refund for the cash difference. of £3.00. The cod flesh was "like wet cotton wool" - presumably frozen and the batter more like a bread dough. The so called "cooked twice chips to give them a crispy skin and fluffy inside" were more like fat soaked mashed potato chips. As for mushy peas and curry sauce - save your money. Totally bad experience for what was supposed to be "Award Winning" according to the web site claims

Seems that the last owners / cooks left December 2021. Tried to ring an order, not possible. Not impressed with the food - seemed warmed rather than cooked, and chips were only just warm, there was no gravy available.The prices charged were higher than advertised on their website 30 minutes earlier. Difficult to say that I will return for another set of meals for our family.

Throughout Covid 19 they should appreciate the business in these difficult times, I understand that people would order and then not turn up for their orders take payment over the phone it's very easy. Maybe 2022 will be better definitely in need of some better management.

What a great find. Staying in Tetbury for a couple of nights and found this place. Cod was delicious and great tasty chips and a good portion too. A great price too so highly recommended

We fancied fish & chips on our last night of a week long stay in Tetbury. In July. What a perfect choice! This place serves the most amazing fish in batter...be warned though..they offer a choice of large or small fish. The large is just that. I struggled to finish mine. The chips were also good. Not the cheapest in the UK but certainly worth every penny. ?
Taken over in March 2020! This chip shop is hands down the best in Gloucestershire, preorder early because it’s so popular ! I have never seen such a busy place! Tried the fish and chips, and they are out of this world

Just had our food delivered from Stargazy. We had Fish and chips and Pea Fritter. The Fish was beautiful and white ,the batter is sooooo good , and you have to give the pea fritter a try! The whole Priory team went the extra mile. Even writing Happy Birthday on my husbands Fish box. A lovely touch. Thank you. Becky, Neil and all the Priory Team.

I have been rude about this place previously [May 2018] but we decided to treat ourselves to lunch today as it was very chilly. I ordered regular haddock and chips over the phone and arrived 5 minutes early to collect them. Chips were free today! I was the only customer, so there was no pressure on staff at all. Fish was well cooked, in crisp thin batter, and was very tasty. Regular chips were too large a portion for two people, but were good, though I think they’d been out of the frier for a while. When this place was first opened, chips were cooked to order too. Their website says that they’re open on Friday lunchtime too, but when I called yesterday that proved not to be the case.

Tried stargazy fish bar in Tetbury for the first time this week, best fish and chips I've had in ages . Really fresh food and big portions and the staff were very friendly. Definitely be visiting again

Read a lot of good reviews on here so decided to try it out last night and I was not disappointed! Chips were cooked to perfection and the fish was absolutely delicious! Huge menu for choice so will definitely be going back soon.
