Love this pub! It is a great base for a good lengthy walk. We were sad to hear it had closed last year, so delighted that it has reopened, this time under new management. Wonderful service, great food (slow roast pork and winter veg pie). Enjoyed the Shangri-la beer recommended by staff. Log fires, a proper village pub, not at all snooty, but very well done and hard working staff. We immediately booked for our next visit in February!

This is a lovely charismatic pub in a picturesque village. It was a bit chilly on the day we visited so the log fires were on, bit smoky but a lovely feature.Good beer as

A great welcoming atmosphere from our arrival and throughout the evening for the four of us in between Christmas and New Year. Absolutely fantastic food and service from the amazing crispy oyster mushroom canapés to the superb Apple mille-feuille that we all had for desert. Plus squeezing in playing some board games! A great evening. Thank you to the whole team. We'll be back soon.

We had the most wonderful Christmas Day lunch here. We were so well looked after from start to finish. The food, the service and atmosphere were amazing. We were a large party of 27 and it was seamless. Thank you for making our Christmas gathering so special ?

Had a great meal at the Royal Oak, highly recommend it. A great menu which pleasantly surprised me with more than the usual pub classics.

Lovely Sunday lunch in a beautiful old pub... Open fires, great ales, delicious Sunday Roast. Our kid's enjoyed the kids menu too, and the service was fantastic. A new favourite!Kid-friendliness: Good kids menu, and also kids-priced Sunday Roasts

The Royal Oak is back! My first meal at the Oak since it re-opened and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife had the plaice and I chose the steak off the specials menu. As recommended by the landlord, Will, I was brave and ordered my steak rare. Both meals were superb and I recommend everyone to pay a visit to this gorgeous Cotswold pub with great beer, a roaring fire, and wonderful atmosphere.

Would give more stars if it was possible. They have recently changed the entire menu and it was shockingly good. The staff were lovely and gave great recommendations too.If you’re debating between this pub and any other, this is definitely the right option.Recommendations: Venison (main) and the leek (as a side, this was wooow)

I would have given this pretty pub 5 stars, had our meal not been spoilt by drunk & noisy teenagers at the bar (seemingly friends of the bar manager). All the other staff worked incredibly hard, and the food was beautiful.

Phoned up last minute for a table on a Saturday lunchtime. They fitted us in and accommodated a pram next to the table which was much appreciated. Burgers were fabulous and waiters were polite and attentive. Will return!
