Second stay here and every aspect was as fabulous as I remembered. The staff are very friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. Oak Lodge is a wonderful room with a wood burner stove and roll top bath in the room. The pub has a great atmosphere and the food is excellent and has lots of gluten free options. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.Rooms: Good quality fixtures and furnishings.Food & drinks: Great menu with lots of variety and good value for money.

Fantastic pub just outside of the town - but absolutely within walking distance. The staff were all super friendly, as were the other patrons (including those on four legs). I’d highly recommend grabbing a few pints before dinner here!
Great meal for our granny’s 79th Birthday. We were allocated a private room, with a great roast dinner. The staff went above and beyond for us, and were really patient with our large group.Thank you - we’ll be back!

We went for Sunday lunch and sadly this experience is indicative of the times we are now in .. it’s called less quality .. or can’t be bothered .. or it’s ok they won’t notice .. or better still how to loose custom!! I’ve had in the past Sunday lunch that was really good and I hadn’t been for a while and as per my prediction it was not good at all .. claggy overdone beef .. tasteless veg.. tasteless everything really .. such a shame .. I suggest the chef tastes his dishes before he sends them out .. I shan’t return and will be sure to tell people not to waste their hard earnt money …
