I realised this restaurant accepted 'Meerkat Meals' vouchers so popped along for lunch with a friend on Thursday 7th April 2022. Having not visited before, we were both surprised at how large it was but as it was a weekday lunch time, it wasn't that busy but there was a nice, chilled atmosphere, with different people occupying numerous tables. The restaurant was nicely set out and the tables weren't on top of one another which we liked. It also appeared very clean, which is always a great sign! All of the staff members we encountered were friendly and welcoming but top marks to Kate who was absolutely lovely - what an asset to the business she is! She was just delightful and engaged in chat with my friend and I, plus took time to describe some of the meals as we weren't sure what to choose and she also made helpful suggestions. If I could give Kate a rating of 100 stars it really wouldn't be enough as my friend and I thought she was just the loveliest lady. Now onto the food - no complaints whatsoever with the presentation and taste of the starters (deep fried mozzarella @ £7.75 & garlic bread with balsamic onions and mozzarella @ £7.50) but we thought the pricing was on the high side, although we were able to benefit from the 241 Meerkat Meal discount so this made a big difference to what we actually paid. For the main course my friend chose the king prawn and oak smoked salmon risotto which she devoured stating it was "really tasty" and I had the spaghetti carbonara al forno but omg this was sooooooooooo dry - the spaghetti was stuck to the dish it was served in as these was no sauce whatsoever and I can only assume this had evaporated during the baking process?! To be fair when I was able to break into the dish, it tasted nice but it was impossible to eat. Kate noticed that I hadn't eaten much and asked if everything was ok and I explained the situation to her, which she apologised for. She offered me a replacement, which I declined as my friend had almost finished her lunch at this point, or to take it off the bill (not really a solution as we were already getting one meal free!) then she kindly offered me a drink but I still had my original one so in the end I agreed to have the cost of my original drink taken off of the bill. Finally we both chose the blackcurrant and prosecco cheesecake for our dessert which I really enjoyed (the blackcurrants were delicious with a tart tang!) although the two of us noticed that the cheesecake seemed rather frozen in the middle. We're not sure if it had come out of the freezer and had not been adequately defrosted or whether they'd got a bit overchilled in the fridge? Again as my friend expressed her disappointment about this and had barely eaten hers, Kate was wonderful and once again apologised and agreed not to charge us for the desserts. To conclude, although we had a few blips along the way, I would probably return to the restaurant and give it another try, especially if I could take advantage of a discount voucher. The fact that Kate was so charming and we were able to have a a laugh with her about our problems, really made all the difference and we left feeling happy and glad that she was our server. It just goes to show that the way staff deal with things can make a huge difference to how the customer feels when they leave the premises. I wanted to leave this review on the actual Prezzo Voice website as I was given a card with a QR code but sadly, I couldn't do so as I'd disposed off my receipt so didn't have the necessary information to enter on the survey. Hopefully the manager of Prezzo in Thornbury will see this review and reward 'lovely Kate' with an all expenses trip to The Maldives for her wonderful service!!! Obviously I'm only joking but I can't emphasise enough how nice she was (and no I've not been paid to say that and I don't know her!!!)

Had a great experience here. Food came out promptly and service was friendly. It was my girlfriends birthday and the manager came over to wish her a special day and ask how the food was. Thoroughly impressed and will be back

We have been frequenting this restaurant for a couple of years now, so only fair I write them a glowing review. Out of all the Prezzos we have been to, this is our favourite. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The food is really tasty and delicious with decent sized portions. Compliments to the chef! They are happy to accommodate awkward guests. The red wines are at the perfect temperature which makes them even more enjoyable. Many thanks to our fabulous waitress, Kayla, for looking after us so well yesterday evening.

Went in with fairly low expectations, anticipating an average chain experience. But was pleasantly surprised. The meatballs & houmous starters were really good. And pizza dough got the thumbs up. Pasta was perfectly cooked & tasty. But where it falls down is in so much being pre-packed. We couldn't remove cream from a mushroom pasta, as it was already done (not hard for a chef to create independently of that?! Not in a "proper Italian kitchen" anyway). And couldn't tweak an espresso martini to decaf (again - not really difficult). So it fell down on the whole "chain restaurant restrictions" thing... which had been my hesitation in the first place.

Felt welcome and COVID-safe from moment of arrival. Relaxed over drinks and olives whilst choosing what to eat. All excellent -calamari, ravioli with lobster, penne arriabata, tiramisu. Service professional and friendly. Will definitely visit again next time in Thornbury.

All in all just a splendid experience. The food we were served was lovely & we were well looked after. The garlic bread we had to start with was lovely and soft- clearly ovenbaked. The mozzarella was crisp and served hot. The mocktails and cocktails were also lovely. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

As the number of high street franchises struggle to survive, I find it unbelievable that establishments like this have any possibility of continuing in the manner they seem to think acceptable. Between 6.30 pm and 8.00 pm I rang three times and attempted to reserve a table using the telephone booking system, at the end of each attempt we were informed that Prezzo was fully booked. The online alternative was unavailable. As we are local we know it is unlikely to be fully booked as it is the generally the place of last resort. We arrived at 8.20 to find a few tables occupied but the place was pretty empty. The front of house person informed us that they were closing and would not accommodate our party, at 8.30 on a Saturday evening. In any other part of the world an effort would have been made to find us a table, the staff would have looked as if they were pleased to greet the customers and had a welcoming smile, why do us British accept this over and over again. Bad presentation, communication and basic grace and hospitality. Prezzo have no idea. Recommendation, go down the road, to Casa la Cucina, they were packed, welcoming, found a table and fed us well. What a contrast.

My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner at Prezzo this evening. The food was very good and the staff were all very pleasant and attentive. We couldn’t really fault anything at all. Although neither of us are really big on deserts, we decided to share a Honeycomb smash cheesecake. Good decision, it was delicious ?. Sharing it - bad decision ! Next time we will get one each ! We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Visited perhaps a dozen times over last two years, since we live locally. Great value for money, and fab quality. But so disappointed with our visit a few days ago... this was our go-to restaurant in Thornbury if we wanted an easy and lovely early evening out with our young daughters.... not any more :- ( Prices have increased a lot, quality has reduced, portion size has halved... compared to pre-pandemic. For example, calamari worked out £1 per piece the size of dried apricot. Now overpriced and poor value. Sadly, we shall not be visiting until we hear that things have improved.

We visited Prezzo today with friends and my husband and I picked from the set meal choosing the lasagne. It arrived still bubbling which meant that it was a while before we could get anywhere near it and when we did, I still burnt my mouth. The meat content was slushy and the whole dish was less than appetising. Our friend had the pizza the content of which was very sparse. His dessert was an ice cream, left in its tub and very very small, just served on a plate. The ambiance of the place is totally lacking and I would liken the main area to being in a goldfish bowl. All in all not a good experience.

My son and I went here for a meal, our first time at a Prezzo. I had the lasagne and fries, he had pizza and cheesy garlic bread and we both had the sticky toffee pud for dessert. The drinks came first followed by the meal in 10-15 minutes, piping hot and dessert arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. Absolutely first class service, food and highly recommend!

Excellent service. Our waitress Tara was brilliant and really looked after us. Food was lovely, plentiful and arrived in good time. Covid measures well in place. We’ll be back for sure ?
