First time in here for many, many years. Forgotten what a good pub this is, with excellent food and even better beer. Friendly service and big outdoor space too at the back. It was quiet on a Wednesday lunchtime but I suspect it’s busy in the evenings and weekends (especially probably for the Sunday roasts). Lovely to have open fire too for a bit of extra atmosphere.

For a couple of regular visiting Aussies to the UK staying just around the corner, this is a lovely 'local' with a friendly atmosphere and what we feel has a genuine British pub feeling. Love table 3 beside the fire place. We will always pop in for a pint and a bite when in town.

Came here for Boxing Day. Ian and the team didn’t disappoint - fabulous food, atmosphere and service as always. My Grandmother said the fish pie was the best she ever had. A true diamond in the rough of a British pub. Fabulous!Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible

The food was delicious from Sunday roasts to burgers. The portions were very substantial and all of our party of 7 enjoyed their food. The service as ever in the Nightingale, was great as was the atmosphere. The purpose of our meal was an early family Christmas dinner. We took crackers and games and were not rushed from our table despite being a 2 hour booking slot. A lovely time was had by all.

We held our family pre-Christmas lunch here. As there was 12 in our group we pre-ordered our meals. Everything worked our perfectly for us. Great food and service in a nice pub atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit.

Great Sunday roast, and catered well to gluten intolerance too! Nice selection of wines and friendly staff- nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely make a return visit!

Our dinner out at the Nightingale was in incredible! We were travelling to London from Canada and I made a reservation because I had a feeling the food would be great. It was a little ways away from where we were staying, but it was well worth the trip. The pub was the quintessential beautiful, cozy English pub. We split a Scotch Egg (tasty!), my husband had the Fisherman's pie, and I had the Cumberland sausages with mashed potatoes and a rich gravy. We loved every bite! This is the kind of place you want to curl up in on an rainy London day. I can only imagine how festive it is around the Christmas holidays! If we lived in the neighborhood, we would go all the time. Thank you Nightingale!!

If Morley's and chicken cottage had a baby you would find it at the Nightingale. The chicken wings were absolutely fantastic! They were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The sauce had just the right balance of sweet and spicy flavours, making each bite incredibly delicious. It was an unforgettable culinary experience!

My wife and I were visiting from Canada and we had an amazing experience at The Nightingale!!! We were sat by the fireplace and felt it was so cosy and charming. The food was the best pub food we had on our trip and the staff we interacted with were kind and genuinely cared about our experience. We hope to return on a future trip!

Super friendly pub for locals and random like me to visit. We gathered here to watch rugby and were not disappointed by outdoor screen and sound, plus easy order of beer and food through the Youngs app. Cosy indoors too.Kid-friendliness: Toddlers and babies indoors early afternoon, but not running riot.
