Very poor service throughout. I was sat in their tipi with friends which was nice enough until the fire went out and it got incredibly cold. I ordered food from their festive menu at about 19:30 and waited for about an hour and it still didn't come. I asked one of their staff about what was happening and she told me that she'd check. She came back and told me that she'd gone to the kitchen to check and the food was definitely coming. After another half an hour, I finally had enough and decided to get a refund and leave. I waited at the stupidly busy bar, and finally spoke to someone and told them I needed a refund. The "gentleman" there asked me where my receipt was, as if his staff were competent enough to give me one. I told him I wasn't given one and told him to check his orders. This man then claimed that they didn't do what I ordered and that someone had come out to tell us this. This is categorically untrue. Eventually I did get a refund. Either be was lying or the woman who claimed the food was coming lied. Either way, I will avoid coming back here. Too busy and more importantly, bad service. It's one thing not being able to fulfill orders, just don't lie about it. Do not advertise food you don't do, and do not leave customers sat in the cold for food that will never come.

We booked our Christmas party here and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. Despite the initial excitement, the night was marred by a series of issues that significantly impacted our enjoyment. From the outset, difficulties arose during pre-party negotiations, particularly concerning the minimum spend requirement. This created unnecessary stress leading up to the event, and unfortunately, it set the tone for the rest of the evening. One of the most concerning aspects was the lack of staff knowledge when we met with a representative a week before the party. It was disheartening to discover that they were ill-informed about the arrangements, leading to further confusion and anxiety. Throughout the night, there were constant disruptions as non-party guests freely moved through our private area, including access to the designated smoking area at the back. The security team, regrettably, contributed to the overall discomfort with their unfriendly demeanor and unhelpful attitude. Despite assurances, there was a noticeable absence of assistance in securing our private area, resulting in a continuous stream of other customers passing through. This lack of control and organisation reflected poorly on the venue. The professionalism of the staff was questionable at best, with a palpable lack of coordination and a general sense of disarray. The bar service suffered due to insufficient staff, leading to frustratingly long waits and, at times, no staff present when we wanted to order drinks. The issues extended to the dining experience, with starters delivered to only one table and a failure to communicate dietary requirements. Main courses arrived at different times, and desserts were served late, some even after guests had left their tables. There were noticeable discrepancies in serving sizes, with some guests receiving generous portions while others getting much smaller servings. The promised extra vegetables for our table never materialised. While the manager demonstrated genuine effort and goodwill, it was clear The Regent struggled to handle a large-scale event such as this. Despite the potential, the numerous issues in service, coordination, and overall execution make it difficult to recommend The Regent as a venue for similar events in the future. It's regrettable that what should have been a festive and enjoyable evening turned into a challenging experience for both organisers and attendees. Hopefully, the venue takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements to ensure a more positive experience for future events.

We booked the outside teepee/fireplace area for 30-40 people for an office party (leaving do). When we arrived, bouncer sent us to the other entrance. At the back entrance, the second bouncer sent us back because he wasn't sure where we had to go. So we went back to the first one, who, this time, walked us to make sure we were going to the right place. When arrived (10 mins after out booking), our area had some tables still dirty with lots of glasses/plates and on the other side some other customers who didnt really want to leave the area. QR codes on the table, we started scanning to order: no menu available. The only way for us to order was to get out from the area, leave through the back entrance, get on the street and get inside from the main door. Same to get back to the party. Just not doable. And I personally was not expecting a great night. On top of that, we wanted to use the TV to play some music from our laptop but TV was broken, we weren't really shown where we could plug the laptop, there was no sound and no remote anywhere. Just terribile and disorganised. THEN TALIA CAME She honestly put 300% of her energy into our booking and she completely change our night. With block notes, pen, menu and card machine, she was taking our drink and food order with payment ONE BY ONE, getting back inside to make drinks and bring them back to the right people too. Unbelievable. SHE ALSO BROUGHT US THE REMOTE AND THATS WHEN THE PARTY STARTED! She kept checking on us even after, when she was required to stay on the bar to keep serving drinks for everyone in the venue. Honestly without her, we would have not enjoyed our time, AND SHE WAS SO OVERWHELMED WITH ORDERS! If I could rate Talia and the venue with two different ratings, I would give Talia 6 out of 5 stars and the venue probably 2 out of 5: the manager didn't check on our booking not even once, the area was not set up for 30 people to come in when we arrived, no one proactively found solutions for our problem in advance (we would have spent waaaaaaay more money if ordering would have been faster, especially in the first hour, probably 1-2 more rounds each), bouncer was not sure where we had to go and I have also waited an hour for 2 burgers and 1 portion of fries because they were brought to the wrong people (maybe when taking orders at the bar for food outside, ask for table number or a name?). So thank you Talia for your exceptional customer service, you made my experience at your venue 10 times better!!

Came in for brunch, party of six, we were quite early into the service so it was relatively quiet, which was probably a good thing as the service was a bit hit and miss, but all the food came right and was pretty decent fayre. 3 Sweetcorn fritters were well liked, as was the Vegan breakfast. Worth a trip and not bad value.

Came here for lunch with my colleague and decided to ask for recommendation and Marko was super helpful! I got the Eggs Benedict, which was probably in my top 5 ever! Highly recommended! Must try!

I usually like this pub, but think they're very understaffed. Went for a Sunday roast with my girlfriend, Munu says it comes with potatoes no potatoes came. A Sunday roast without potatoes is like a hotel without a bed! For some reason my girlfriend wasn't given a Yorkshire and then when she was it was Stone cold, at £17 a pop we really felt we'd been robbed really which is a shame, as I do like this pub. They gave us potatoes when I asked, 4 small ones which were cold and by then no gravy. The staff here are nice people but they need more staff on a Sunday to help them

Good standard pub. Plenty of big screens to watch the football or rugby in the back room but none in the from room of you don't want it. Service to the table which is great. There's an outdoor area as well that I haven't been to for ages. Food is fine, this time I had a burger which was fine.

This restaurant has a strong presence, there's always patrons and it's got a great pub vibe going. Menu for Sunday Roast is well organized and quick, also tastes and looks amazing when presented. Price is reasonable for the amount and quality of food. Drinks are great (very refreshing and if there's lime or added mint, it is very fresh and clean tasting). Service is very kind and personable, and we enjoyed going for the Sunday Dinner bustle.Would highly recommend coming with a crowd (reservations is probably your best bet of getting in).

Large airy modern pub in Victorian building. Good vibe and plenty of sport to see. I remember, I think, it used to be called the Haymarket reflecting then its past rural connections. Good beer selection with both ales from the hand pump and select lagers. Didn't have the food but looked great. Staff super friendly and relaxed. Highly recommended.

Many TVs to watch live sport

Amazing pub right next to Balham station. The staff are always great there and on this occasion Ana went above and beyond. I was unsure on what beer to order so she recommended I order the beer flight which is 1/3rd pint serving of 3 beers and I ended up going for all 3 of their Mondo's on tap. Great selection and unbeatable customer service. Looking like it's my new regular!!!!!

The staff are very rude.We did not receive the side plates for the sharing board.Aperol Spritz was "still".The cocktail was very small, when the bartender's friends got a big glass (Gin&tonic glass). The pasta was not "Al Dente" it was just undercooked and hard.We will never come back. The worst service we have ever had.
