Great little pub! Booked a table to meet some friends for some drinks and a bite to eat.The staff were super lovely and very attentive. We ordered some drinks at the table and they came back a few times to check if we were ready for food.My husband and I ordered the Fish and Chips where our friends ordered a few couple small plates. The food was delicious!Given Dry January, they had a couple of choices for non-alcoholic beer and even a non alcoholic Gin (Seedlip)

I had an absolutely magical experience at The White Lion, all thanks to the charm of Hugo. His charisma not only lit up the pub but made the atmosphere was so delightful, we ordered cocktails he really delivered. Hugo's enchanting attention to detail made it the best Christmas Eve get together we have ever had.Kudos to The White Lion and the charming hero, Hugo!

Nice staff, gross toilets.Seeing as I am not able to reply to the venue I will say that blaming the customers does not account for missing toilet seats, lack of loo roll, and generally broken facilities.

Our first time in as a group and we were made to feel welcome by our host, Hugo. We ordered the fried fish, the non vegan burger and the Irish steak and kidney pudding. One sticky toffee pudding was shared among the three of us. My dining companions who had the burger and fried fish ALWAYS have the same in every place we go, so that was a good benchmark. I always go for a steak pie and that usually means living with disappointment. Not in this case! It was the best pie I have had for ages and passed on two critical points: there was no huge void hidden by thick puff pastry and the stock with the steak was perfect! My companions loved their dishes and we all loved the prefect large chips. Chef: we salute you. we will be back again!

A wonderful pub with a great management team. Food was amazing and drinks were priced reasonably. Shout out to the young manager Hugo who looked after us all night and was an absolute delight. Will definitely be coming back with more friends

Me and my friends came for drinks last night at about half 9 and some young lad in a red top refused to serve us because the bar was supposedly 'shut' yet you state on your website that you shut at 11pm? He then proceeded to have shots for himself with the other staff. There was also a girl behind the bar who was very rude to us and a few other customers around us, it made us feel very unwelcome.

INCREDIBLY rude manager, clearly in a terrible mood and took it out on the customers repeatedly. Closed the bar early and didn’t ring the bell because he ‘had a lot to do’ with a full pub and people who had just finished the quiz. We love doing the quiz every week and quizmaster Alex is great but it is such a shame it is all ruined by the miserable and rude manager we see there all the time. May have to look for a new local quiz unfortunately.
