“Sir Richard Steele isn’t just a pub—it’s a character. Nestled on Haverstock Hill, it feels like a living scrapbook of London’s eccentric charm. Step inside and you’re greeted by eclectic décor: vintage curios, mismatched furniture, and walls that whisper tales from decades past. It’s the kind of place where every visit reveals a new detail—a forgotten photo, a quirky ornament, a corner you hadn’t noticed before.
The beer garden is a hidden gem: fenced off, leafy, and surprisingly serene for its urban setting. Inside, the atmosphere is cozy and communal, with locals, creatives, and curious wanderers sharing space and stories. There’s often live music, karaoke, or just the hum of conversation—always something happening, but never overwhelming.
Drinks are well-chosen, with a solid selection of craft beers and classic pours. The food is hearty and satisfying, especially the Sunday roasts, which have earned loyal fans for their generous portions and comforting flavors.
What truly sets the Steele apart is its staff—friendly, genuine, and clearly invested in the pub’s spirit. Whether you're celebrating something special or just dropping in for a pint, you’re made to feel welcome.
Sir Richard Steele is a rare find: a pub that’s both a refuge and a celebration. It doesn’t try to be trendy—it just is. And that’s exactly why it works.”

“Nice pea & watercress soup I had served with toasted bread slices, portion of skinny fries as a side which were surprisingly yum & almost / just as good as a chunky chip, checked it out inside was small, dark & noisy (better for a drink), chill evening to sit outside & easier to talk, more peaceful but still atmospherical & alive?”
