Was quiet on a Monday evening but not complaining as it meant we could talk easily. The food was lovely, nice crisp falafel which we had with yoghurt and cucumber for a starter. Main course was the mixed grill, which was really good apart from the minced lamb ones being a little oily. However it all tasted great! The waiter was super friendly and helpful, and I'd love to come back in the summer, sit overlooking the river and try one of the stews. And we should all support independent restaurants!

Welcoming staff, we were big group and they were trying their best to serve all dishes at same time but unfortunately that made them to keep dishes for some time and it was served not hot, but it was understanble. The only other comment is that they need to serve some sauces with dishes as I ordered a mixgrill for two and no one single sauce was served until we asked. Anyway, general experience good.

Amazing. Well worth a visit! We visited on a Thursday evening and had a lovely experience at Narenj. The food was amazing, especially the sharing starter with various dips and bread. Despite other comments left here, the service was efficient and the waitress was very friendly and welcoming. We will certainly be back!!

Hidden in the leafy Kingston, at the riverside, Narenj is a special jewel you have to explore. I got to know about the restaurant from a leaflet at my door. It was a takeaway promotion, but I decided it would be worth to visit, and was very happy with my experience. From a very generous selection of the traditional Persian starters to the mouth watering mains, my dinner didn't disappoint me. My all time favourite became Momtaz - a combo of grilled chicken and minced lamb grill. Accompanied with a local house red it goes well. Since then go every couple of months - food is always fresh and has a nice aroma of mixed herbs.

Terrible. Good service. But terrible food. Ordered the sea bass and after trying a little bit, it was raw inside. Asked for them to recook, it came back burnt on the outside but still raw on the inside. Severe lack of regard from the kitchen. Come back home and between writing this and the toilet, haven’t stopped violently throwing up. Avoid this place at all costs - your health is worth more.

What a lovely first time experience well spent with my loved onesThe setting is just amazing and has stunning views that are calming and therapeutic, well complimented with tasty and fresh food.Service was good overall just a little slow due to only one team member running the restaurant which was quite a busy time as it was the lunch time that we had gone. But this wouldn't stop me going back because it was good food great value and the restaurant was very traditional and stylish with an amazing view.Thank you ☺️

Amazing restaurant, staff and food. We held the reception for our wedding at the restaurant and cannot praise the restaurant enough. They gave us the private room upstairs all to ourselves, allowed us to play our own music and catered beautifully at every dish. It was so beautiful to look out onto the river and enjoy the cool breeze. They provided us a dedicated staff member Mohsen who was professional, wonderful and so attentive. He helped us to have the best day ever! So thank you. Will be returning to hold more events.

Been here a good few times, as early as 2016. This is one of my favourite restaurants in Kingston. Great value for money in terms of portions and the food is full of flavour! I have something different each time but the Ghormeh sabzi is just superb. If you're a fan of traditional Persian cuisine, this isn't very far off the mark, it's worth the visit. Bonus is you get a great view of the river if you can get a seat in their outer area.

Lovely, fresh grilled seabass in a spot looking onto the river. A welcoming reception and attentive service. We ate early afternoon in a relaxed, calm atmosphere with a few tables occupied. When in Kingston would return again.

Highly Disappointing Experience My party and I visited Narenj Restaurant last night, and I'm afraid I must share the unfortunate experience we had. It is rare that I feel compelled to write a review, especially a negative one, but in this case, the impact of the situation necessitates it. First and foremost, all four of us ended up with food poisoning. After consuming our meals, we were inflicted with severe nausea and vomiting that has persisted until the present time. As frequent diners, we are all certain that the sickness we've experienced has been a direct result of the food we consumed at Narenj. Upon recognizing our condition, we reached out to the restaurant to report our situation and were met with a complete lack of concern or empathy. We were abruptly hung up on, which we found highly impolite and inappropriate. This is not the level of customer service one would expect from any establishment, let alone a restaurant where food safety is paramount. In light of these incidents, I can't help but question the overall hygiene standards and customer service quality at Narenj Restaurant. I urge future patrons to exercise caution when considering dining here. As for my party and me, we will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this establishment based on our unfortunate experience. One thing I've learned from this is the importance of a restaurant's transparency and accountability towards its customers, two qualities Narenj Restaurant seems to lack, at least from our experience. I hope this review helps future diners make informed decisions, and I hope Narenj Restaurant takes the necessary actions to address these issues.

Definitely lacking as a Persian food, service was very slow. The environment was beautiful as it was on the river side. Water was leaking from the window and asked to change the table, but in the end, we had to do everything, such as the transfering plate from one table to the other table, joining the table and seats. The food wasn't up to temperature. Disappointed with the position of hummus was small. Many things that were missing might be Persian food, but not for me. This is not how Persian food is made. Lentil soup was awful. I have to ask for a few things such as sauces and water, once the food is served they will forget about you. Many of you will prefer to go as of been on river side, but if looking for Persian cuisine then not really. Will I go again may be not.
