Highly recommend, food is really good ?

We have eaten at the sister restaurant, Gloria, and always enjoyed it. On the face of it, Ave Mario is very similar, but unfortunately the actual experience was disappointing. The service was slow, the food bland and oily (we had the crab linguine which made us feel ill) and there were groups of kids everywhere having photoshoots which spoiled the vibe. Overhyped

Pretty surroundings but staff were distracted. Beware of hidden charges and paying 13.5% service charge, an additional £3 charge to pay as recommended using the table QR code, and a further gratuity charge. Added £26 to a £122 bill.

Decent food but there is no service nor attitude, can’t recommend. Too crowded, too busy, like fast food restaurant with poor process.

Had lunch with the family, was shoved in the corner table with people walking to toilet and waiting staff walking past constantly. Members of staff pushing past my mother’s chair multiple times to reach the service area and stepping on her coat. Inattentive service and a rushed experience. Main course was brought without cutlery on the table and ravioli was served in a soup-like sauce in a bowl which did not look appetising. We also had to ask multiple times for Parmesan. Very disappointed considering our experience at Gloria was exceptional, will not return. Looks great on Instagram hence why it is so popular, but I wouldn’t bother coming here. Service charge was 13.5%(!) and we were also asked to add additional service on top which was not appreciated.

I was told to go to Ave Mario by a friend.. so disappointing! First impression, the guys at the door! Arrogant, rude and although our table was ready he said we needed to wait for the exact time of the reservation (it was 13 minutes later).. the service was not attentive at all because the place was very busy and the staff was super busy all the time ( if you charge so much for pasta and pizza just recruit more people). The food! The food was sooo mediocre, we had to pay 75 pounds each for pasta with truffle and pizza with mozzarella.. very disappointing

I was really disappointed with the service today. We were about 10 minutes into eating my main course and the manager rudely interrupted us to say we only had 10 minutes to leave the table in time for the next booking so we should decide quickly whether we wanted dessert. At this point, it had not even hit the hour mark and we actually still had 20 minutes left of the time allocated. Also - I'm not sure how she expected us to choose and eat a dessert within the '10 minutes' we had left. Felt really unwelcome and ruined the rest of my meal. Won't be returning, better places for authentic italian food.

Everything was nice, especially the vibe and service. Just don't understand why they need to add up the surcharge for making payment via QR code (self service)
