My partner had suffered a family bereavement on the week of his birthday. I wasn’t sure if he would be up for celebrating so didn’t book anything. On the day, we decided to go for food. His favourite is wagyu steak. I searched and Flat Iron came up but didn’t have any availability, as you can imagine it was very last minute. I set my heart on going and contacted them on their online chat to see what they could do they managed to squeeze us in on a table. Firstly, my experience with their customer service, then speaking to the manager, Jake, of Covent Garden branch that I was directed to, was superb. Not only did they accommodate us but they shared condolences, understood what I was trying to achieve and even threw in some witty jokes for good measure. Then, we get to the restaurant, I’m already impressed at this point. We checked in and barely waited 2 minutes. We sat by the bar as the table was prepared and every single employee to pass us greeted us with a smile and checked on us. That’s impressive. We get seated by lovely employees. Later, we meet the manager. What a professional, humble and kind man. He came to the table and personally expressed his condolences to my partner and personally wished him a happy birthday. It’s really rare to meet nice people these days and we were so impressed, it meant a lot to us. So, customer service and the restaurant service was impeccable. Now the food! Well, the sides are divine. We are multiple portions of the mash and vezuvian tomatoes and spinach. Absolutely stunning. We also had the Wagyu. Oh my gosh. We’ve eaten a5 wagyu at Michelin star restaurants and I have no idea how Flat Iron delivered such exceptional food at such an affordable price point. We finished with a delicious ice cream which is free of charge - the little flat iron token that you are given during your meal to redeem on your way out was a cute touch. I also enjoyed walking around with my ice cream after the meal, it just adds to the experience. We spoke to the lady serving our ice cream about Flat Iron and she sung their praises in a genuine way about how the branch is run, its ethos and ethics. She was genuinely so happy to be part of the team. So, customer service, restaurant experience, food quality and price are all exceptional. You would think that it can’t get better, right? Wrong! we did some digging and learned that not only do Flat Iron prioritise sustainability and partner with organisations to prevent food wastage and hunger but they have their own Flat Iron Fund which supports an array of charities. I really can’t see why you wouldn’t want to eat here, enjoy the customer experience or contribute to their great causes. I definitely haven’t done this branch the justice they deserve in this review but I don’t want to go on. We have now eaten in multiple Flat Iron venues and enjoy being surprised by which ice cream we will get at the end and have a collection of flat iron cleavers at home.

Unfortunately my flat iron steak (medium rare ) was very chewy / tough to eat. But the customer service was very nice. Don’t want to make a fuss to them. The complimentary salted caramel ice cream cone was lovely.

Wow what a find, we had 2 x flat iron steaks, 1 x picana, 1 x Scottish steak all great, the mash and chips are amazing and such good prices, very happy.

Flat Iron always first choice when visiting London as food is amazing. Had a rare disappointing experience last time I came but Jake the general manager was great about rectifying it and resorted all faith! Will always recommend this restaurant, Thanks again Jake!

Every year, this place is the last port of call for me and my friend after a day’s Christmas shopping. Love the food, atmosphere and simple menu style. Flat Iron never disappoints. This year was extra special. I took a tumble in the market and was hurt and shaken up when we arrived. Jake went out of his way to help with Ice packs wrapped in towels, a welcome drink and a short wait for a table, leaving Claudio to take over and make sure everything was on point. Thank you guys for your kindness - made all the difference to the rest of our day. See you next year, hopefully without the drama ?

The place was full when we arrived - we didn’t book in advance - so we had to wait a bit but the staff was very friendly and efficient and we could sit at the bar and get a drink while waiting. The food is really good and reasonably priced, we’ll definitely come back!
Great service, specially from Tashan. She was lovely the whole time, super friendly and provided great service with a smile. The gentleman that took the order and everyone we came in contact were so nice too. Our table was beautiful with lovely real plants and the food was so tasty. 10/10 will definitely come back and recommend to friends

If you want great steak, in a great setting, with a great atmosphere, then Flatiron doesn't disappoint. Food, service, and location were great. Myself.and my husband had medium rare flat iron steak, and it melted. Really great meal.

This place is superb for a casual or formal meal for meat lovers; a great range of home grown meat cuts and delicious sides; an open kitchen allows you to see what the staff are doing, including the delicious ice cream given as a complimentary at the end of your meal on your way out. Superb sides include the potato mash with garlic shot through with beef marrow, and the tenderest kale I've ever eaten, smothered with parmesan shavings. Quality and simplicity is the key here, and represents excellent dining in a quality environment. Comes highly recommended!
