I often buy Gail bread and treats - especially love their Olive stick. I thought it would be lovely to sit in at this branch and enjoy breakfast. Despite the long queue, it moved very quickly. It was a little disappointing though when my quiche was served and not even warmed slightly, literally just picked off the counter and put on a plate. Not even with a napkin or a sprig of rocket or something. Also ordered two hot chocolates which were served in teeny tiny mugs - barely two gulps worth. Overall, would recommend the goodies, but not sitting in. We sat on a table which had been vacated but not yet cleaned. Despite the food and drink coming quite quickly, nobody bothered to remove the empty tray left on the table by the previous customers. Strange.

Passive-agressive till staff last Friday morning, won’t be going back. Please teach the young black lady some basic customer service skills.

Went to the Gail’s Blackheath yesterday and appalling service. The gentleman before me was called sir, made his takeaway order, given a bag and told to have a nice day. When it came to me a young black woman, I was rudely told “yes” to get me to proceed with my order, my muffin and honey cake were pretty much chucked at me and the honey cake dropped on the floor, still had to have it ? I practically had to beg for a bag and the look of disgust I got from the lady with blonde hair in a pony tail and glasses was so awful.Said thank you to her despite the service and no response.I almost felt I was treated differently because of the way I looked. Was not worth queuing for, food was dry too. will never be visiting this or another Gail’s again.

Nice bakery, always busy. Lots of places outside, which is great during warmer days.Food is fresh and tasty. Good coffee.

The place has excellent food with that buttery home made taste. It's lively, busy but service is quick. Great place.

Good foods but they should be as they’re not cheap. Very popular and always busy on weekend so expect some queuing. Staffs are some good and some aren’t like everywhere else.Overall good bakery, but seeing staffs petting customers’ dogs and going back to work WITHOUT washing their hands were hugely disappointing. It’s not acceptable to handle foods and simply disgusting :(

Re-vamped recently with a lower counter and displays opposite. Still high quality, freshly baked breads and sweet treats. Can get very busy, seating outside also.

Specifically asked for a Decaf Cappuccino as I’m pregnant - and two servers didn’t know what that was. The manager then came to explain and they made me an americano with no milk? How can a coffee shop not know what Decaf is ?? Some people are allergic to caffeine and this could be serious!

I'm left wondering yet again why I bother coming here..... They ran out of soya (with another 3 hours to be open the could probably get some from the little supermarket next door. And they are soooooooo slow.... Maybe they are milking the oats5 years later ... just as bad. No vegan options unless you want salad. I ordered tea with soya milk, the woman repeated my order 'soya latte?' Eventually managed to get her t make tea, and she asked if I wanted regular milk.

Just visited this business, I was asked by member of staff to see if I needed help.I asked him if they do crusty rolls,I could see that he looked confused. He then asked manager the same question and manager said that they don't do rolls.I then asked him if this is a bakers, he answered we're a bakery and we only do bread.Question..Aren't rolls part of the bread family?I'm not sure what I'm more upset about, the fact they don't do crusty rolls or that the member of staff doesn't know what they are. ?

Lovely friendly welcome. Good choices. Food delicious. Not rushed at all and plenty opportunities to do some work.

My favorite Gail’s in whole London. Even I don’t live near by anymore. I still come here at least couple of times of week with my dog. Because it’s more just a coffee place, it’s people who work there, their smiles and personalities, fastest service, pastry is fresh and in morning you can get it warm. Love love this place with all my heart!
