Lots of shops like this selling overpriced gifts for guilty spouses and partners. However, the chocs and boxes in here are particularly tasty and not too expensive. Nice friendly staff aswell.

I don’t tend to think of Hotel Chocolat as a place to go for ice cream, but I’m glad I did. The Millionaire’s Sundae really satisfied my craving!
This review is not about the chocolate.I tried the ice cream sundae they are offering and it was not to my taste. If you are a fan of a normal whippy ice cream then save yourself £5 and significant disappointment, stay away!

Hotel Chocolat sell delicious chocolates so no complaint there , but like others I had a poor staff experience at this branch.I had ordered online so went in for Click and Collect. I gave my order number and my name as requested, even spelling my surname twice even though it is not a difficult or unusual one. The Assistant then asked for the date I made the order which I looked up for him. He went out the back and came back with a large cardboard box, undid it at my request and revealed a large gift bag. I was surprised as I hadn't asked for that and it wasn't a gift. I said as much and that it should be 2 boxes of chocs... No response so I assumed all was ok and left, thinking I might complain about unnecessary packaging.When I checked the contents later ( after I was on the train home), there was only one item in the bag. So I looked at the delivery note also in the bag...I had someone else's order! Slightly similar surname but everything else totally different. And he had specifically ordered and paid for a gift bag ( which is now wet and slightly battered!).Now I am going to have to make another special trip to swap the items and no doubt the person who ordered what I received will also be disappointed!Staff need to take more care!

got gf valentine's chocolates - was a good move - she liked almost all the 'truffle' style ones, got one of each - ginger could be made a lot stronger, lime was not very interesting - seven or so other flavours all good
