The restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere and the food I ended up ordering was delicious. However, I was initially disappointed to learn the short rib, which was my main reason for visiting, was unavailable. What made this more frustrating was that I saw other tables enjoying the short rib dish. I inquired again and was clarified that it was actually the pork rib that wasn't available. A complimentary appetizer or dessert to acknowledge the miscommunication would have been appreciated.

The sea bream dish was advertised as whole but in reality it was half the fish, which made the dish poor value for money. The octopus was salty and a bit chewy. The chili ice cream was very good as was the bream ceviche with mango. Beautifully decorated restaurant which makes it a decent place for a special occasion.

While the food is alright (some dishes like the whole fish are amazing, while others like the tacos appetisers are okay) especially for the price, the drinks, the dessert and the music/ambiance/vibes are truly incredible! Will definitely be back especially for the latter.

Ixchel, London - Mexican dining experienceSo, in preparation for my trip to Mexico, decided to try this restaurant off a personal recommendation.On entry, you will be instantly amazed by the interior decor, which feels like you are being transported to a different country. Make sure you go downstairs and have a look as well. There's a dj booth for late night dining.Customer service was really good here, although I did witness one or two order errors. Only minor.The order for the night:GuacamoleWhite Crab TostadaEnsenada Taco (single piece)Pork belly TacosCrispy potatoesMolcajete Salsa - spicyFlight of blanco tequila - fortaleza, don julio and HerreduraBunuelo Mexican dessertThe Guacamole was standard , but tasted fresh so probably homemade.The white crab tostada is something I haven't had before but it was good and well seasoned.The Ensenada Fish taco was similar to that of Laurel's so good as well. Not greasy.Pork bely tacos were okay but the Crispy potatoes kept the momentum up. The sauce was very tasty.For the african and caribbean people, please get the scotch bonnet salsa for any spicy requirement. My only disappointment was that I didn't get any fiery heat from any of the menu itemsBest blanco on the night was the Herradura.Cocktails are good as wellLast but not least, the main highlight which I took as a risk was the Bunuelo dessert. I went to Ixchel last night for a late night cocktail with a friend. They are always fully booked for diner over the weekend, so book in advance as soon as you can.We were taken down to the lower ground floor which has a long wooden table with amazing fabric chairs. The atmosphere and interior design is gorgeous. There are little touches everywhere of Mexican statues and decorations.They have an amazing dj with great sound system!I loved it and highly recommend it to anyone

We had a delightful experience at Ixchel!Offering a range of Mexican dishes, this restaurant excels not only in its flavourful food, but also in its exceptional service. Kudos to Sukumar for being so attentive, offering great recommendations and overall providing a great service!We really liked the pork belly tacos, the tuna tartare brioche, the crab tostada and of course the margaritas! If you prefer a slightly healthier dessert, the Mexican mango with the lime sorbet was also great.Highly recommended!

As authentic as you can get Mexican food in London, in an awesome setting. Would recommend getting more appetisers and small plates over a large plate - personally felt the combination of flavours on the smaller plates stood outSaving room for dessert is a must. Recommendation would be the mango crème brûlée. White Moon, of the dessert cocktail’s, is out of this world ?
