We arrived (8!?!) mins before our booking and we were turned away, not even allowed to have a drink at the bar area. Having had a wine next door we knew the area remained empty the whole time so this was a bit strange. Once in we were briefed we had 90 minutes to eat our meal and would then be turfed out. The food was ok, but some dishes were extremely spicy with zero warning. Having spent a lot of time in Sri Lanka this is not traditional food. No dahl, no kottu and no roti without butter. Once are meal was complete we were hurried out and told no desserts on offer. I think this place needs to accept less bookings and if they want to churn the tables offer a menu at cheaper prices.

Excellent food. Ordered the dosa, deep fried roti with sambol, black pork, beef rasam, pachadi and 2 rotis.Unique flavors, but perfectly executed. Also ordered the Ceylon iced tea, which was needed with the sambol (extremely spicy). Next time, I should ask if they can dial it back a bit for meWas slightly disappointed they had no dessert but it is what it is. Will go back without hesitation

Food was really good, but we had a very awkward encounter when asking to remove the ‘service fee’ Tip (which we decided to pay). Could management please confirm - does the staff’s wages rely on these Tips (as we were informed)?

Delicious hot spicy ?️ food. Prepare yourself for the heat ? . Portions aren’t massive but between 4 we ordered a wide selection of dishes and tried so many interesting dishes. Highlights included Black Pork curry, various sombals(?), amazing spiced chicken skewers. I recommend taking the plunge order a selection and dig in. Such a great intro to delicious Sri Lankan ?? cuisine. It was so good, both I am my sister bought their cookbook.

Delicious dinner @rambutan_ldn in #londonbridgeLove getting to try new flavours and combos I’ve never had before. Cocktails were lovely and service was super quick… almost in and out in an hour ? No desserts tho ?

They have a small menu approach. We ordered one of each for our group and everything was delicious. Atmosphere in the restaurant is on point.

Excellent little restaurant with menu changing frequently but never disappointing. Do not skip the roti.

RambutanOn sunday we payed our first to Rambutan in borough market for a Sri Lankan lunch. We unfortunately left with mixed feelings. When you book you advised that your table time is one hour and thirty minutes. We arrived fifteen minutes early but this wasn’t a problem as our table was ready. The thing was you are immediately told that your table will now need to be back ninety minutes from the time seated. They even send you an updated email. On sunday we payed our first to Rambutan in borough market for a Sri Lankan lunch. Now on to the food where we started with the Gundu Dosa and coriander sambol , Buttermilk Fried Chicken Wings with pol sambol and citrus pickle and the Deep Fried Roti with anchovy katta sambol. The flavour combination in each dish were amazing. For some reason had to keep the same cutlery and plates for our main courses. These of which arrived very quickly indeed. We were asked if we’d like another drink but due to the speed of the food arriving I didn’t see the point. We ordered the Black Pork Dry Curry , the Beef Cheek and Roasted Bone Marrow Rasam accompanied with white samba rice and a buttered roti. We also had a refreshing Pear , Daikon and Lime Leaf sambol. These dishes were nice but nothing special and not enjoyed as much as the starters. When the waitress cleared our table we had a nice chat and talked about which dishes we enjoyed the most. We then sat there for a few minutes before calling a waiter over to ask if the did any desserts as the are none on their website nor on the menu. We were told they don’t do desserts so just asked for the bill. This meant forty five minutes after arriving we left feeling quite disappointed especially as it took us an hour to get there. What I also noticed was that there were people in there before we arrived and were still there when we left. There also seemed to be tables being served at a more slower and relaxed pace. So I find it hard to work out why we were served so quickly when you consider we were told we had a ninety minute table time yet left in half that time.

Had dinner with some friends at this restaurant, first visit for all of us.We had the feasting menu which was £46pp. Barring a couple of really nice dishes, the food was pretty average. The service was flat out bad, just sub par. It was pretty slow, not really that friendly/quite transactional. The venue lacked any atmosphere and felt a bit sole-less. Despite being really far away from the door, it was pretty cold as well.

Great service, food and wine. Unapologetically spicy in the best way. Vibrant flavours throughout and some uncommon Sri Lankan dishes to explore. Great wine recommendations.
