Stopped here for dinner before seeing a play. The food was great and the atmosphere was cozy and classic.Unfortunately, I felt bad for the waiter/bartender who was taking care of at least 6 tables by himself. Not his fault, but the service was slow causing us to be late to our play.

The service was very good. The person who served us upstairs was excellent. We would have liked the beef but were told it was sold by 1.30. If the beef is so popular and you serve Sunday lunch until 5, I am not sure why more beef is not available. The chicken however was nice and moist. The parsnips were tasty but very undercooked almost raw at the fatter end. But the food was good and decent value. A bit more gravy would be appreciated. Bit it was a good experience and will come back.

The Bear and Staff is an amazing experience. I've passed it so many times but we wandered in after a theatre trip and the staff were amazingly friendly. Great atmosphere and not packed at all. Comfortable and easy to have a conversation without being drown out like some pubs you can go to. Really enjoyed the experience and will be back again for sure!

Very busy, popular pub, right in the tourist area. They have a great choice of real ales here and a decent menu (not tried the food myself, although it looks pretty good). This is what I would call a proper London pub. Well worth a visit.

Came for dinner during my girls trip to London. I ordered the tomato basil soup and the slow-cooked beef rib, and pulled brisket pie. Both were incredible!!! Paired amazing with a glass of the Rioja wine. My cousin ordered the fish and chips, cooked and seasoned well. My sister got the nachos which she enjoyed. 10/10 recommend. Andy was our wonderful server. So grateful for the good vibe and great food!

I ordered the Steak and Nichols Pale Ale pie, and it was tasty. The meat was well seasoned, and so were the veggies. Portion was just right for me. The 0nly reason why I took a star off the atmosphere is because you can smell the cigarette smoke from outside coming in due to the door being open. It made my eating uncomfortable. None the less, Place was great.

The Sunday Roast was nice enough but service was shocking. One waiter for all the tables who was abrupt, rude and really bad at prioritising. Would polish forks rather than take orders and every food order we sat go out had things missing or was wrong. Okay price but with the amount of options we won't be going back.

I've been coming here for many years. Having a multi-choice beverage menu and an outside seating area is a great advantage. The service staff are very cheerful and friendly. The location is very good. I can recommend everyone.

I have been in London for 10 days. This place has the best food, I ate here 3 times. Lamb shank pie was fabulous! My server Andy was polite helpful and friendly. He made my dining experience wonderful. Highly recommend eating here and drinking London Pride!

Definitely eat upstairs in the Charlie Chapman Dining Room. Excellent service by Thor! Had delicious steak pie with piping hot gravy - the pastry was a piece of art. Happy 150 years! It’s obvious why you’re still in business ❤️

From the welcoming outside appearance to the cozy atmosphere inside, this pub is top notch. Drinks flowing and fantastic steak pie. The fish and chips had a great flavor with a light and flaky white fish it was everything we needed!! Perfect location as well!

Great spot before theatre. Very friendly staff, good service. The meat pies were delicious. Good value, will go again next time in Lomdon.

We use this pub a lot for dining when seeing shows - it's very conveniently positioned, can be booked in advance, reasonable prices and good food. We've always had a good experience with the friendly staff, but on Saturday evening Parithi was excellent. Friendly, helpful, and unfailingly polite and calm when faced with multiple examples of the idiot general public, expecting to be able to move tables around to fit their party of 10 (!) who hadn't booked, people sitting in the restaurant but only wanting drinks, others walking straight in and ignoring the Please wait to be seated signs.

This place is amazing. It truly feels like a real British experience. The food is wonderful, the wine is great, and the service is AMAZING!! I appreciate Yousif for always being so nice, efficient & attentive. I’ll definitely be back with my family. Highly recommend the beef bourguignon!
