Excellent food and atmosphere. Live Jazz music nightly. Beautiful space. Crab toast is great, herring, steak, sea bream. Great dinner. Fun vibe.
Loud, buzzing, and almost feels at times like a Vegas-style recreation of history (in this case Jazz Age era NYC) but the food itself is spot on brasserie faire that is sure to please. Brasserie Zedel makes such a strange first impression. Once you get inside the waiting hall where, in addition to the main restaurant there are other options available for you to explore, it will feel more like a theme park than a brasserie; it literally felt like I was waiting to enter an attraction at Disneyland. Everything about it screams tourist until you realize there's nothing London about the experience at all. The main space is giant, tastefully driven around classic art deco style, and overwhelming loud. From what I understand it's never not like this so if you're going to come here make sure you come to terms with it being a "lively" spot that you'll need to shout to everyone in order for them to hear you. I'm sure none of this sounds good so far but where your disquiet will be put to rest is the food. It's great, it's generous, and it's inexpensive for the quality you are getting. I had some french onion soup which was perfectly prepared - not too sweet, not too rich, not too cheesy, just savoury and deep. For the main entree I had the Coq au vin which was one of the most perfect representations of this classic dish that I've ever tasted; it was so delicious that I cherished the fact that there was an ample amount of mashed potato on the plate to enjoy whatever remains of the sauce I could before calling it a night. So, it's not without its issues but the food is the real attraction here and if you're looking for some classic French bistro eats in London, this will do the trick.

Hidden several staircases below the main floor are a show room, american bar, and the brasserie. The brasserie was incredible; a large hall ornately decorated and reminiscent of the golden age of fine dining. The live jazz music made things all the more enjoyable - the vibes here were so great I could've stuck around for a while. The food itself was fine, we tried the chopped american steak which was basically a hamburger patty with peppercorn sauce, kinda mid. The creme brulee was nice however. Overall I'd come back solely for the vibes.
Brassiere Zedel is a classic French brassiere in a quintessentially English space. The room also is worth a visit to Brasserie Zedel. While it might not be best food, it is still a great experience.

I absolutely loved this place! I was really craving a good french meal (specifically escargot) and theirs was soooo good. I had the escargot, potato leek soup, and the beef tartare. Truly everything from the food, to the ambiance, decor, and service was a 10/10. I was so glad I found this place I highly recommend! Truly some of the best french food I've ever had.
What an atmosphere! Feels like being transported back in time. The live music was perfect. Food was good not great. Service was very good. So much fun!
Brasserie Zedel has been on my list for quite some time now because of its alluring grand art deco design that makes me feel like I've been taken back into the 1930's and I was so excited to visit. They were serving traditional french food at a remarkably good value starting at £16.95 for 2 courses and £19.75 for 3 courses. We had the 3 course menu. *Dressed Shredded Carrots *Chopped Steak Americain and Fries *Chocolate & Caramel Tart *Crème Brulee We started with the Dressed Shredded Carrots. It tasted sweet with its honey-like dressing and was perfect with the bread that it came with, but what stole the show for me was the gravy that came with the chopped steak americain. It was so good that I had to ask for another round because I kept wiping my fries and steak with it. The Chocolate Caramel tart and the Creme brulee was just the cherry-on-top to end the night away. Post theatre dinner with my wife which turned into a nightmare. Staff very very officious and surly. Ordered cheese soufflé and steak hache- both massively over seasoned. Later that evening I was violently sick from both ends. My complaint was investigated and told there had been no other reported incidents. My wife's meal of coq au vin was also massively salty and virtually uneatable. Advice is do not go to this restaurant! Unless you want to tempt fate !.

This place has been open a few years so it wasn't hard to get a booking. No sign of wear and tear though. The vast space is dripping with gilt and gleaming glass. It’s fitted out with wood panelling, frosted lights and oversize posters of La Belle Epoque, just in case you forget the theme. It’s typical brasserie fare, very well executed. My sea bream was excellent. The main course portions are adequate but you probably need to order vegetables on top. Our server struggled to hear us over the chatter and jazz ensemble, but was friendly. For an informal meal it was expensive, but you’re paying for the location, plonk in the middle of London, and all that gilt.

Located a couple of hundred meter of the Piccadilly tube stop Regent Street entrance. Entrance on the entrance level Floor is of a small French wine bar, but two flights down and it’s very much a different scene with art deco interior, massive chandelier and jazz singers for the afternoon. The Formula three course came with a glass of wine, the red being drinkable. The house wine the waiter noted. Good selection and extensive menu a number of prix offers. Some had the Formulae menu- three courses with glass of wine and water which had the celeriac salad starter which was excellent. The lobster bisque of the Ala carte was also great- no lobster meat in it though. Back to Formulae Menu, The coq du vin was a massive portion and looked appetising. The dorado filler was good but unfortunately unimaginative! The hake was a dry but salvaged by the chervil butter sauce with its 4 clams. The lemon meringue was good. Something similar to that of m&S said one of the diners. Service was present but didn’t intrude. Jazz live in the back was very much a take it or leave it depending on distance from the stage.
It is a big place like a factory canteen so that it becomes very noisy when it is full. It was full when we went there that we should had spoken with more turned up voice to be able to hear each other. Even their live music could not be heard. The noise is too tiring. Food is average French food, nothing much special. Our waiter was friendly person but too friendly than I would expect and accept. I don't think that it was kind of malicious intent, even friendly but it might be good idea to balance the interaction and jokes. It is not an ideal place if you want to dine in a relaxing and relatively quiet place.
As a great fan of French brasseries,like George’s in Lyon ,I was very excited about the experience ahead. The food did not disappoint: very fresh, very French.The Art Deco decoration is beautiful and classy. The only disappointment was the service: the staff was not very helpful,they were slow to come to the table,they did not anticipate our needs, and were not smiling.Our waitress had difficulty communicating with a French couple next to our table,she passed by us in several occasions without checking our table. This was the big difference between your English venue and a top French brasserie.You need to recruit and train your staff properly.
