Post theatre dinner with my wife which turned into a nightmare. Staff very very officious and surly. Ordered cheese soufflé and steak hache- both massively over seasoned. Later that evening I was violently sick from both ends. My complaint was investigated and told there had been no other reported incidents. My wife's meal of coq au vin was also massively salty and virtually uneatable. Advice is do not go to this restaurant! Unless you want to tempt fate !.

This place has been open a few years so it wasn't hard to get a booking. No sign of wear and tear though. The vast space is dripping with gilt and gleaming glass. It’s fitted out with wood panelling, frosted lights and oversize posters of La Belle Epoque, just in case you forget the theme. It’s typical brasserie fare, very well executed. My sea bream was excellent. The main course portions are adequate but you probably need to order vegetables on top. Our server struggled to hear us over the chatter and jazz ensemble, but was friendly. For an informal meal it was expensive, but you’re paying for the location, plonk in the middle of London, and all that gilt.

Located a couple of hundred meter of the Piccadilly tube stop Regent Street entrance. Entrance on the entrance level Floor is of a small French wine bar, but two flights down and it’s very much a different scene with art deco interior, massive chandelier and jazz singers for the afternoon. The Formula three course came with a glass of wine, the red being drinkable. The house wine the waiter noted. Good selection and extensive menu a number of prix offers. Some had the Formulae menu- three courses with glass of wine and water which had the celeriac salad starter which was excellent. The lobster bisque of the Ala carte was also great- no lobster meat in it though. Back to Formulae Menu, The coq du vin was a massive portion and looked appetising. The dorado filler was good but unfortunately unimaginative! The hake was a dry but salvaged by the chervil butter sauce with its 4 clams. The lemon meringue was good. Something similar to that of m&S said one of the diners. Service was present but didn’t intrude. Jazz live in the back was very much a take it or leave it depending on distance from the stage.

It is a big place like a factory canteen so that it becomes very noisy when it is full. It was full when we went there that we should had spoken with more turned up voice to be able to hear each other. Even their live music could not be heard. The noise is too tiring. Food is average French food, nothing much special. Our waiter was friendly person but too friendly than I would expect and accept. I don't think that it was kind of malicious intent, even friendly but it might be good idea to balance the interaction and jokes. It is not an ideal place if you want to dine in a relaxing and relatively quiet place.

As a great fan of French brasseries, like George’s in Lyon ,I was very excited about the experience ahead. The food did not disappoint: very fresh, very French. The Art Deco decoration is beautiful and classy. The only disappointment was the service: the staff was not very helpful, they were slow to come to the table, they did not anticipate our needs, and were not smiling. Our waitress had difficulty communicating with a French couple next to our table, she passed by us in several occasions without checking our table. This was the big difference between your English venue and a top French brasserie. You need to recruit and train your staff properly.

Brasserie Zedel's La Fete des Rois on 7 January was fantastic. To gain entry one needed to wear a crown. The 3 course menu was excellent. The celeriac remoulade was delicious as was the sea bass on vegetables. My friend was also able to choose a vegetarian option. The galettes des Rois was also delicious served with a vanilla custard. Service during the evening was exceptional. A huge thank you to Brasserie Zedel for their extraordinary generosity. Will definitely be back again.

We had to sit and eat by the bar because eventually the restaurant was fully booked - it did not seem like. Very uncomfortable seats and we couldn't even have a private conversation because bar staff kept standing over us. The food was below average, no big deal. The sneaky service charge was a nasty surprise though. This is nothing more than a fancy factory canteen and I would advise to avoid this place at all costs.

First time I’ve eaten here and what a lovely place! It’s huge inside and feels rather special. While it isn’t cheap, the comment my husband muttered to me as we entered and went to meet friends was ‘how much is this going to cost us?’.. the answer was less than the very stylish upmarket interior impression gives you. The food is pretty traditional French fare and we all enjoyed it. If I’m honest, the service was slow but we were having a really nice time so it didn’t irk any of us that much. It was really the only area that could be stepped up but definitely wouldn’t put me off returning to this great place.

We had a fabulous light lunch in ZL cafe before heading to a matinee. It was perfect as always. Great service, food and wine.

Came for a snack before the theatre, I had a cheese and tomato toasted sandwich and cappuccino, both very tasty and great service

We had a great lunch here (my first time tho not my wife’s) and enjoyed everything. The atmosphere is like a perfect Parisian bistro, the food ditto, the staff efficient and despite how busy it was were unfailingly polite. Couldn’t fault it and will definitely visit again.

Called in on the off chance of a table prior to seeing a show. Table for two located, and menus provided. Waiting staff were very helpful and friendly Two course fixed price menu chosen, arrived quickly and super tasty, better than I had hoped! (Steak & chips with peppercorn sauce & chocolate tart). As is standard in this area a service charge was applied automatically - not my preference, but didn’t feel the need to challenge this.

I dined here with friends on 29th November. We have been 5 or 6 times before and it is our treat every now and then, so were really looking forward to it. For the first time we were so disappointed. Nobody to take your coats, so all draped over your chairs. Waited an hour for our drinks, asked abot 4 times and reminded the waiter one of the gin and tonics should be without ice. When they arrived there was ice in all, the waiter looked at us as if we were asking something really weird and ignored it. The starters were not good, my soup had a skin over it and was tepid. one main was a souffle with chips, it arrived with salad (a couple of lettuce leaves) and we had to insist on the chips. " The salmons were a piece of very cool, dry fish on what tasted like tin puy lentils. One lady had the chicken and quite honestly it looked like the leftovers, again cold and just a mess, she hardly ate any of it. 95p per person was added as a cover charge. We had one third of a french stick and one single portion of butter between 5, when we tried to ask for more it was ignored. We could not find anyone to speak to, they were either too busy or ignored us. We left feeing very disappointed. I don't usually use Trip Advisor, so contacted 2 of the Senior people on Zeddel's website. I received no acknowledgement so tried Michael, he responded and apologised saying both people had left the Company in 2022. He asked me for more details so he could look into it further, I sent the info. I had and have heard no more. Zeddel's I think need to improve their website and staff attitudes and cooking if they are going to be a restaurant that people want to frequent. I would like to add that the surroundings are still very special.
