Overall good experience. Good food, nice atmosphere and decor inside, as you come to expect from the Ivy. Some ways in which can be improved:- more rice with the duck curry, their standard portion seems strangely small.- ensure food is hot when served. The curry comes in a pot which is heated by a candle. Candle only lit at the table, so took some time for the curry to actually be hot.- Waiter seemed stressed and was a bit annoying as a result

Forgotten at the bar waiting to be seated - wobbly table - various items unavailable on menu - we walked out. Avoid for dates/business. The Ivy have been invited to comment - here is the complaint lodged:I’m writing to report a complaint about The Ivy, Richmond re. a dinner reservation on Saturday, 6th January at 7pm.My partner and I had a reservation for 7pm and arrived on time at 6.50pm. We were instructed to wait at the bar and told our table would be ready in five minutes. Twenty minutes passed and we had been forgotten, so I reminded a friendly server that we were waiting and we were then taken to our table (7.15pm). We were given a table that wobbled, so we waited again for our server to return to request alternative seating. Unfortunately, a significant amount of time passed before they returned (now approx 7.25pm). We were not given the option to move to a different table; our server inserted something under the short leg of the table in view of neighbouring diners. This is The Ivy, Richmond. Really most embarrassing and undignified. There was no sincere acknowledgement of our wait or the inconvenience caused. Our server then proceeded to tell us everything that was unavailable on the menu as they had run out of various items. At this point we requested our coats and left the restaurant. The staff were polite but there was absolutely no attempt to apologise and rectify the situation.Colossal disappointment.

Had a lovely family lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday. Everything was outstanding. Friendly, accommodating staff - excellent well presented food - and exceptional value for money. Many thanks !

The food was average, dull, needs a lot of taste. the service was one of the most annoying things I’ve ever witnessed, the lady that acted as a messenger to the manager was an absolute mess, she did not have any kind of manners or logic in her talk I was looking forward to this visit but I won’t visit this place ever again nor I will recommend it to anyone ever again.

Yet another hit of excellent restaurants to dine at as that very special treatThis being my second Ivy Brasserie the other being in Wimbledon Village .Admittedly on the expensive side particular if your meal includes a good bottle of wineIn my case the occasion was a Christmas present from my elder brother.Decor entering ,was like a hall of eglomise mirrors come merino lightningstunning pictures on every wall draws you in .Well dressed dineing tables throughoutSome in quiet corners and most attentive staff.Food outstanding having respectively aStart of souffle of wild mushroomsWith main of ,tempura, squid tenticalsalong with wild foraged mushrooms and truffle linguine.Numbered desserts ,teas and coffee. Was delighted to discover that there is a disabled toilet available on the ground floor orherwise it's very steep steps up to the first floor not recommended iif like me you have difficultyFirst floor is where you'll also find private dining rooms to book eg celebratoryStrongly advised to book ahead. One for your dairy

Little that I cannot say about this place that gives it less than 5 stars. Absolutely loved every bit of our experience here. Food was top notch, my steak was cooked perfectly, the blackened cod was tender and juicy, and the lamb bolognese pasta for my child was delicious. Great cocktails too, my only wish was for more time to try out other cocktails. For dessert, we had the chocolate bombe which I think the three of us licked the plate clean. Will definitely be back, as our 4 year old was super happy with the food. Only recommendation would be to provide some kids activity such as coloring pads etc.

We had an amazing lunch time. Our server was Lux and she was very adorable, helpful and joyful. Also other servers that pass by or ask a small things were very nice and lovely to use ;).Food was quite decent, desserts very unique.Looking forward to come back one day

Nice place, very welcoming as you walk in, beautifully decorated (but its a chain so that's standard). Attentive service and nice cocktails. The food was positively underwhelming.I had never eaten at The ivy, but have always heard great things, obviously this is just the chain brasserie, but there are standards to maintain. So to my experience last night, fortunately I had great company in an old friend, so the average food was masked somewhat by great conversation. To me, the food was average at best.My started was reasonable (Duck Salad) tasty but lacking the key ingredient, the duck itself, just a few scraps of meat in a half-decent marinade. But the main course, Blackened Cod (one of my favorite's) was most probably the worst I have ever had. A tiny piece of cod no more than 10 x 8cm, drowned in Miso, a minuscule portion with almost non existent sides, even the additional sides were tiny.I'd give the food 1.5 out of 5 (but that isn't an option, so it gets a 2 based on a tasty starter)Don't get me wrong, I had a nice night, but that was the company and service over the food.I won't be returning that is for sure.

I love the ivy! The restaurant looks great, and the food was really tasty. We had slightly slow service on the night we went, which meant we had to rush out as we had tickets to the theatre. That being said the service was otherwise flawless and I'll certainly be going

Beautiful place but the service was patchy. Hosts are very obliging however we were given a pretty unceremonious bums' rush with 3 minutes to vacate our (very small) table ahead of the next diners. I guess you don't come here to relax or have an intimate dining experience, which is a shame because the food is pretty good and the art deco setting is lush.

Lovely and relaxing environment to enjoy a breakfast on a Sunday morning. I had the eggs benedict, and the eggs were cooked perfectly and went well with the shredded ham. My only criticism was that the sauce was a little on the cold side for my liking, and toast was cold, so I couldn't melt the butter. I'm sure if I had raised it with the waitress, they would have been happy to rectify. Overall, it was very good, and I will be back.

The Ivy in Richmond is located conveniently off the main shopping street. ?. We parked nearby, on the green ( not literally. ?). Plenty of parking on a Wednesday late morning in October. The usual expected decor that all the ivy establishments have. Cosy and unique. We where looked after like royalty. Such wonderful service. Nowhere else is as good in my experience. A delicious ? lunch was had. Fabulous experience.

Their weekday set menu is extremely good value. 2 or 3 course options. Very nice cocktails.
